It is impossible to be a Good Leader without being a Good Person !

Did you play sports growing up? Think about the best coaches. His many were “kind” and “nice”? That has nothing to do with religion or race. Many were hard asses that demanded the most from you. But you respected them and for some would run through a wall for them. That’s leadership.

??Pls don't try to conflate hard w/ bad or good... No need for an explanation!!!

Who are considered some of the biggest leaders the world has seen? Hitler, Castro, Mao Zedong are among the names you will see in various lists. Would you consider any of those three kind, nice and a good person?

:rofl2:

You make up a list of shitty ppl & want me judge their goodness & or kindness???

Perhaps we can compare ppl like trump, nixon, dick the dick cheney to murderers, rapist & tyrants & they won't look so bad, that changes everything

Those were folks off a list of the best leaders in history. The whole premise is false that all good leaders are necessarily good people

Best is simply subjective but one has to wonder who in the world could consider hitler as the best~Germany & Europe was destroyed along w/ untold millions dead-fuckin disaster:palm:

If you actually read the title it is asking a question, is it possible... I guess your point is no, it is not possible, you need to be a prick, a thief, a liar, a pussy grabber, be worshiped by cultist looking for any scoundrel to lead them to "his" promised land..

The OP wasn’t asking a question it was making a statement and it’s just wrong. Not all leaders are good people. Not all leaders lead in a positive way. Jim Jones in SF was a hell of a leader. Would you think of the words nice and kind when thinking of him?

Just a Christian leader.

Just a Christian leader.

Of course Nordberg. You're the guy who boo'd Louie Zamperini, a true American hero if there ever was one, because he turned to Christianity to help with the hell he had been through and that was unacceptable to you.

You just go to show atheists can hate just as much, and in reality more, than anyone else.

That's why Obama sucked.

Nice and kind doesn't determine one's ability to be a good leader. It doesn't take those qualities to have a mass following of people. Look at Obama.

It's interesting that a thread about leadership and multiple folks can only think of one (the same) person in the world. No actual thoughts on what leadership entails and if people we consider historical leaders possess these traits...

We could think of hundreds of leaders to discuss but take Steve Jobs who led Apple to becoming the most valuable company in the world. How many times have your heard nice associated with his name?

Using your example of Jobs, I didn't hear the word "nice" associated with him but people seemed to set apart his personality from his accomplishments. When he died he got a lot of accolades in spite of not being a nice person.

Biggest but not in a good way. There has to be another way to describe them other than "good" leader, I'll peruse thesaurus.com. :D

I agree completely which is why I disagree with the OP that its impossible to be a good leader without a being a good person. History is replete with great leaders who were not nice and kind. You brought up Saddam in another thread. I sure hope no one would use the words kind and nice to describe him but as evil as he was he was definitely an excellent leader.

I think we differ on the words good or excellent to describe some leaders. If Hitler's way of leading culminated in the Holocaust there's gotta be a better term to describe that besides excellent. Mesmerizing? Seducing by evil?

We often equate leaders with good but that's clearly not always the case. There are plenty of great leaders who lead for horrible causes. And historians who study world leaders will look at the "bad" leaders as well as the good.

An analogy that popped into my head is entrepreneurs. Take Steve Jobs, he's pretty much considered one of the greatest entrepreneurs this country has every seen. We generally equate entrepreneurship with good. But there are amazing entrepreneurs that lead criminal gangs and drug rings. So while these folks are amazingly talented entrepreneurs they use their skills for what most of us would call 'not good purposes'.

Good....in the context presented does not necessarily hold any moral or immoral implications. "Good" as in describing the desirable traits of a leader simply indicates the successfulness of the leader in question. In this context....HITLER WAS A GOOD LEADER as were many tyrannical world leaders.

Accept it or not. Donald J. Trump is the leader of the United States....good or bad, he is YOUR leader if you are citizen of the United States.

Its a (wink, wink) GOOD THING that you are a citizen of the US...other wise one of those "good" world leaders would have you charged and executed because of the very gestation/idea of this treasonous thread. LMAO:laugh:

You are free (due to the US CONSTITUTION and the BILL OR RIGHTS) to trash talk and cast stones at your leaders....something you would not do if you lived in a nation with a good SOCALIST fascist leader.....Like those in Cuba, Russia, Venezuela, China, Korea....etc.,

trump isn't nice, kind or a good leader yet he has a mass following. I swear it's like those people are drugged.
So did Obama, the most divisive President in history.

Obama's "leadership style" was race-baiting and class warfare. He was and is a hate-mongering POS, to the nth degree.

I just watched a 60 minutes documentary on this lady, Elizabeth Holmes, who ran a sham company named Theranos and fooled many wealthy intelligent people into giving her billions of dollars. She wasn't a good, kind person either.
