It was the state attorney's office, not local authorities

Three things do stand out.
Martin was in an area that he doesn't live in and ran, like a thug.
He was licensed to carry the firearm.
Zimmerman was also in a public area and Martin shouldn't have tried to take his gun, like a thug.

you must really hate martin, he was living their at the time and had every reason to be there lawfully

and when did it become fact that he was running?

also, while he was licensed for a ccwp, he was not further licensed to be performing a job while carrying according to a legal pundit on cnn

he is just a cop wanna be and poor one at that

You must really love thugs like Martin; but I never said that he was there illegally.
Care to show me where I said that; unless you're just full of shit.

The 911 call says he took off running and it was probably to hide his stash.

And we all know that all pundits on CNN are always truthful. :palm:

Martin was a wanna-be thug, acted like one, and paid the price for assaulting someone.

you said that he was likely running to hide his stash of stolen stuff

NO, I said he was running to stash his stash.
I dare you to show where I said he was running to hid anything stolen.
This is a new low for you though.
Congratulations on morphing into a troll.

if i could, i would delete the string of posts, however, you are correct in that i used the wrong forum for my problem so i posted it under announcements

so what. you don't think he was treated at the scene? how long after the altercation was the video taken?
The only thing I got out of the video is that Zimmerman is not the fat fuck he appeared to be in the first picture of him published. That's about the only conclusion I could draw from that. The police did seem to be treating him with kid gloves for someone who had just killed a person but you can't draw any conclusions from that.

George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch crime captain who shot dead 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, originally told police in a written statement that Martin knocked him down with a punch to the nose, repeatedly slammed his head on the ground and tried to take his gun, a police source told ABC News.

Zimmerman had claimed he had called police about Martin, whom he found suspicious, then went back to his car when Martin attacked him, punching him.

The new information is the most complete version yet of what Zimmerman claims happened on the night of Feb. 26 when he shot and killed the teenager.

Unfortunately Zimmermans side of the story is heresay with out witnesses to collaborate his story. Unfortunately Trayvon is too dead to tell his side of the story.

You're doing a damn good job of giving Zimmerman more leeway for his actions than you're giving Martin.
No, actually I think Yurt is being fair minded and objective. There's not a whole lot of hard evidence to evaluate in this case. There's Zimmermans side of the story and a police report that doesn't really tell a whole hell of a lot. Alls we really know for a fact is that Zimmerman provoked a confrontation and a confrontaion did occur in which Trayvon was fatally shot. Other than that, we don't know a hell of a lot of the details or facts.

My concern is that Zimmerman did provoce a confrontation and a death resulted. I think Justice would indicate that he be charged with manslaughter and let a Jury determine his innocence or guilt and not a States Attourney. That was a big mistake by the States Atty to advise this, IMHO. Secondarily, I would like to know if the Stand Your Ground law had a direct affect that contributed directly to this killing or the decision not to file manslaughter charges. If so, that's a law that's broken and needs to be fixed or repealed. Thirdly, I want to know if in any manner at all, were the actions taken by Zimmerman or the police involve racial profiling or discrimination. I feel fairly comfortable that the police are probably not guilty of racial profiling or discrimination based on how the investigation has proceeded to this point.

why can't people use correct legal terms? the direct participants testimony is NOT hearsay. good god. now, testimony from zimmermans brother/mother/grandmother, THAT would be hearsay.

this would be a huge mistake, if for anything other than forcing a fast trial resulting in acquittal..only to have someone come forth later and provide the silver bullet that would have convicted him.

in what way do you think wonder this? are you referring to ignorance of the law?

Disagree with two points,
1. Of course yurt is being biased, in your noble attempt to be fair minded you are overlooking the obvious.
2. I am not comfortable at all with the police response and neither are they, hence the suspended police chief. Pull your rose colored glasses off for minute.

I imagine he is reffering to your ignorance, for not realizing that the stand your ground law is likely what disuaded the state's attorney from pressing charges

Well that makes no sense. So you let the guy walk instead?

What do you mean "in what way do I wonder this"? I wonder in all ways! Simply stated if there's something wrong with this law that is causing people to die uneccessarily than it needs to be fixed or repealed whatever that problem may be.

How is Yurt being biased? He simply states that there are not a lot of facts to go on. He's right.

Obviously I am in the minority about racial profiling but I really haven't seen a lot, if any, evidence that racial profiling or discrimination were involved in the police investigation. I'm not discounting the possibility and I certainly understand African Americans sensitivity to this issue. Zimmerman though is another case. I think it's obvious that he did racially profile Trayvon.
