Trump lied about the funding. However, the worst part is that he decided to tear down half the White House to build a ballroom. There are procedures to go through to change historical buildings. Trump said Fuck that, I do what I want and defies them to stop him. So since he destroyed half the White House it is very difficult to stop it in its tracks. We have to do something to repair the damage he did. The worst choice , as even Trump figured out, is to do nothing and let it stay this way. Once Trump figured out he could get the funding, he told his wealthy donors, if they existed, to keep their money, he got the suckers to pay for it. Now he has to start building the Arch de Trump, Trump does not care about the debt.

No I don't think the iran war is a good idea but that's irrelevant. What is relevant is that for decades the Iranians have been dicking everybody around and I firmly believe that with nuclear capabilities they will use them to destroy those they hate. Sending them strongly worded letters hasn't worked. Something needed to be done and you people weren't doing it.
