What a clumsy worded sentence. Power isn't controlled, in the sense you mean it. When one has power, one is in control or not. Hitler had power but was corrupted by it. He was "out of control". Democrats have the leading edge of power, in the Senate, if by the skin of teeth. Republicans have the leading edge of power in the House, and are "poised' to lose it, come 2012. And surely, you could do a better job, of being clear, as to what you meant by your comments. "The very things railed against"? "Guilty of"? What are you talking about?
When Liberals control the power to make the decisions, is what I meant. Whether political or executive, when Liberals call the shots, the very things they constantly scream in outrage in fear that cons will do.... THEY DO! Brazenly, boldly, and largely without challenge. Case in point, Obama's EXPANSION of the Patriot Act and Bush policies in the war on terror. Liberals scream about Cons paying off their rich oil buddies and donors, but when they are elected to office, they do the same thing they screamed in outrage about, with unions and special interests.

Well, everybody does that, but that is the point... when Liberals do it, the reason they do it is because they know how they are. Liberals are outraged that Cons can pay off their cronies and be corrupt as hell with our money.... but when they gain power, look at what they do? Ahh.. again... to the ESSENCE of this thread and my initial hypothesis. The Liberal is most concerned about all the "unfortunate" in society, minorities, the sick, the elderly, the poor... and it is because the Liberal knows how they are personally, they really don't give two shits about helping these people, and they figure, no one else will either, so they must support the government stepping in and "doing what none of us will"... the truth is, it's the Liberals who won't, conservatives are very charitable, but their beliefs are, charity starts at home, we are supposed to help those in need, it's not the government's place or obligation.
For years their argument for 'pro-choice' was the notion that government shouldn't be in your womb, why, because that is exactly what they did when they came to power, they implemented massive government take-over of health care, giving government full unfettered control over your womb and every other part of your body, through Obamacare.
Excuse me...but liberals are for women having the choice and the jurisdiction over their own bodies and its' contents. Obamacare would insure those who fall through the cracks, and who wouldn't otherwise be covered...but your side only cares about the fetus, and once it's born, you wash all hands of the matter, and could care less about the newborn, its' care and welfare, or the mother, condemning the infant to a predictable life and end.
Yes, I know liberals are for a woman having the choice and jurisdiction over their own bodies and it's contents, because Liberals project their own personal sentiments and uncontrollable desire to tell people what they can and can't do with their body through nationalized health care. Again, they figure if they have this insatiable need to dictate and mandate health care to everyone, then we all must have this need, so they have to stand up for abortion rights.
So, whatever a liberal is railing against in outrage and fear... is exactly the kind of leadership they would implement, totalitarian and authoritarian mandated fascism from liberaldom.

I think they do it on race as well. The believe we must have programs like Affirmative Action, because so many Americans are prejudiced and racist... but the reality is, very few people in human resources, are prejudiced or racist, they can't be... it's the law.
