And you're aware that there is investment in solar & wind, as well as other industries, correct?

Do you really think they tried to "time" the stimulus for the elections, tops? You understand economics, or claim to. A dollar invested today will lead to 3 dollars in a year. Why would they want to gamble by delaying a jumpstart to more growth as long as they could?

Your party hackishnesd blinds you. I read a whole lot more about garbage than capital investment. And yes I am convinced he spread it out for political gain. He was smart to do so. All the payofffs that happen to get deals done and you think he's above that. Lol

I put ZERO faith in government policies to save the masses. I do however know, $600 billion injected into the economy will have a positive short-term effect, and that is what I stated. Yes, we ARE headed for a boon, an artificially contrived boon that will cost us $600 billion to orchestrate, and it will last until approximately December, when all the Democrats have been re-elected to another term. Then we will see another boon along about election time of 2012.

We were told the stimulus was a dire emergency, that certain economic collapse was going to happen if the stimulus wasn't passed. How was it used to "stem the bleeding" or "shore up confidence" when it was never allocated? Ahh.... I see, it's supposed to do those things in late October, just before people have to cast their vote! I gotchya now!

How would prosperity arriving sooner hurt his "political gain"? You know what's coming. It is only going to build on itself. The sooner the better, if you're a politician.

The admin knew how close we were to the precipice. Even if they did think (insanely) that delaying good investment intentionally would benefit them politically, it would be one hell of a gamble.

My argument on this thread is not that politicians are ABOVE doing this; only that - from an economic standpoint - it would make no sense whatsoever. It would be a stupid thing to do.

Because an usustainable boom followed by a double dip would have been dissaster for dems. Were out of the recession why not ax remaining stimulus? Because democrats reelection is an emergency.

Lots of non Obama toting economist think they delayed. Please they could have juiced spending quick like bush did with checks to their bosses.

I just looked at a stim summary. We are in the start of a boom. It was more capital than I thought. That said eyeballing it looked 50 percent food stamps, insurane and reg gov spending. I hope righties hold on to their gloom as we climb the wall of worry.

Isolate the 2 statements that contradict each other, then explain why you think they contradict each other. Try to note the real difference between the statements - as though you were explaining it to a child who knew nothing about contradictions, or politics.

I'd really like to hear this. You seem fairly certain that I am saying 2 different things, so I'd like to understand the reasoning.
