Special counsel Jack Smith has filed a motion to drop all four felony charges against President-elect Donald Trump in connection with his effort to overturn his 2020 presidential election in the lead-up to the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S Capitol.

Trump was first indicted on four felonies in August 2023: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiracy against rights. The case was then put on hold for months as Trump’s team argued that Trump could not be prosecuted.

Proving this was politics, and election interference, all along.

What else was he going to do? They were all being dropped next January, this way he can help his staff from endless pointless photo op “investigations” by the little Jimmy Jordans

Besides, the rule says an elected President can not be tried, Barr/Mueller told us that, so continuing such would have been fruitless

So in other words it was election interference. Glad we agree

Whoopsie, never mind; some people are above the law.

Do not take this as a sign that we made it all up to undermine an election!

Nah, he is not dropping them because Trump is innocent, besides, they were all prosecuted under different violations
No they weren't. It was the exact same insane legal theory that has been rejected by the supreme court.

Sure they were, Trump was never prosecuted of disorderly conduct, unlawful entry. assault on law enforcement officers, disrupting Congress, theft or other property crimes, weapons offenses, nor making threats, but they were

The Fisher case only applies to Fisher, and it did remove one of the charges again Trump, but not the others where it wasn’t applicable

Special Counsel Smith files motion to dismiss the Classified documents case and the DC election interference cases.
MSDNC (MSNBC)

Both are gone.

Smith should be prosecuted for Malicious Prosecution.

The fisher case was precedent for all other insane applications of 18 §1512.

Those misdemeanor nonsense was time served a long time ago.

We got him now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The political witch hunt is over. More winning.
You kidding, the actual one is about to begin

As I said, the Fisher case wasn’t a blanket decision, it doesn’t apply to the other crimes, it would have no relevance over such as charges for assaulting a federal officer

He never had a case. Trump committed no crimes. The time for retribution is upon us. The US gobblement needs to reimburse Trump for all legal fees.

Merrick Garland needs to be sent to Gitmo
Sure he did, he is dropping the charges but leaving it open to be resurrected in the future, called dismissal “without prejudice,” which I would explain to you but your not interested in facts
