Republicans had the opportunity to have a full blown commission with 6 each Republican and Democrat. They chose not to.

All Democrats I know acknowledged Trump got the EC and therefore the presidency. They are not bashful in pointing out, however, that he lost the popular vote, i.e. was not the choice of the American people, and lost it by the largest margin in history of any EC winning presidential candidate. This caused Trump to launch his first voting fraud campaign, initiating ballot investigations in states Biden piled up votes, investigations that went nowhere. They should have been a warning of the shitstorm that was coming.
