The Constitution sets out very limited powers to the VP, and the President is under no obligation to consult with a VP. Biden was a very experienced, and competent VP, so Obama consulted with him a lot.
Presidents are allowed to consult with people outside their administration. It is only common sense that Biden would get advise from Obama. I hope he is getting advise from the Clintons too. It probably would not hurt to get advise from Bush, and Carter. There is only one ex-president not worth listening to...
Biden works well with almost everyone, but there are some people that you just cannot work with.

In the first place labelling my response as spin is poisoning the well. It tells others that what I say is spin, just spin. That is a dishonest debate tactic.
However, what Psaki said was "They are close friends who talk regularly". Volsick makes a completely unsustained claim the Biden admin takes instructions from Obama. That is not what was said. Yet you backed it too. It is simply not true. You cannot derive that conclusion from what she said.
The Obama bought their DC house years before Biden took office. It is 2 miles from the White House, not a few blocks. There really is no housing within a couple of blocks of the White House. They are keeping their DC house, but have more recently moved to their new house in Martha's Vinyard.
They wanted to keep their children in the same school in DC. It is common for ex-office holders to stick around DC, especially if their children are still going to school there. Now that both their children have graduated, they are in the process of moving to Martha's Vinyard.
They stayed in DC when trump was president, and are in the process of moving out when Biden is President. I hardly think trump was offering the Obama's a place to stay, which is why the Obama's got their own place.
I doubt anyone will ever ask trump for advise, but other than that past Presidents are consulted. It is why they are allowed to continue to get intelligence briefings. From my understanding, trump did not want intelligence briefings, and no one is arguing with him on that point.
