Jesus "Tempts" Republicans With Christianity Matthew 19:21

even though they have the same root, there is a difference between social and socialist. not all social activities are socialist. I thought you would be smart enough to know that.

All collective activity is “social” activity i. e. “socialist,” “socialism.” Voluntary socialism is the work of God, socialism with the government’s gun at your head is the work of Satan.

Just like not everyone that "terrorizes" people is a "terrorist".

Now there’s a typical leftist thought. Surely in leftist-Land terrorist are Saints, patriots and do-gooders, huh?

do I deny that ice cream socials are part and parcel of government control of the means of production and distribution? ummmm yeah. I do.

But that never was the question Goober. Here Goober, I’ll try again. “Do you deny that ice-cream socials are voluntary socialism?” You should now clearly see Goober that the question never incorporated anything about “the government’s control of the means of production.”

I deny that ice cream socials are attended by socialists. absolutely.

Now you’re a psychic who knows the political affiliation of everyone who attends ice-cream socials? If ice-cream socials are not social gatherings what are they Goober? Oh! Hey! Maybe they’re individual gatherings of one, huh Goober?

Ice cream socials are in fact social gatherings... and what the fuck IS "voluntary socialism" and what does it remotely have to do with ice cream socials? Is that some goofy term you just made up? "Socialism" describes a form of government. "Social" does not.

Here:

so·cial·ism noun \ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\
: a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies

Full Definition of SOCIALISM

1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

contrasted with:

so·cial adjective \ˈsō-shəl\
: relating to or involving activities in which people spend time talking to each other or doing enjoyable things with each other

: liking to be with and talk to people : happy to be with people

: of or relating to people or society in general

I hope that helps you in some way.

socialist has a specific meaning which you are misusing. No big surprise there.

And I absolutely disagree that ice cream socials are the work of God.

and you missed the last point entirely... again, not surprising. Words with similar roots are not always synonymous. All things social are not socialist, anymore than all things that terrorize are terrorists. Get it, or are you just too fucking numb for this conversation? Let me know.

Charity is “voluntary” socialism. It’s a “collective” endeavor to provide for the less fortunate. It’s the work of God because it doesn’t hold the government’s fucking gun to our heads and extort us.

If you go to an ice-cream social, you do it voluntarily, I know of no government that has forced folks to attend a “socialist” ice-cream event, do you?

That of course would be “involuntary” forced government socialism. All “publically” owned corporations are “voluntary” socialism because the government’s gun isn’t being held to our heads to own shares in them except for fucking GM of course.

“Advocating the collective ,” You prove my point! Public Corporations and ice-cream socials are “socialism.”

Socialism: 1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.[/quote]

So, are you now denying that government doesn’t OWN & ADMINISTER government ”SOCIAL” programs?

What NON-terrorist do you know who doesn’t terrorize?

I've always wondered how a Liberal can see such a personal request and assume that it means, "Go, take all that another has and give it away then tell them how evil they are for not doing it themselves! This will make you holy, then you can follow me."

How is it you have enough money to get online? You, apparently, haven't sold all that you have and followed him.

you can make up whatever "definition" you chose for this term "voluntary socialism", but that doesn't change it from being a goofy construct which adds nothing to the discussion. Ice cream socials are not socialist events. Neither are social gatherings at homes and schools and restaurants or on street corners.

and in answer to your question of what NON terrorist do I know who doesn't terrorize? Myself. My wife. My children. All my friends and all my neighbors. They are all non- terrorists and none of them terrorize, to the best of my knowledge. How may non-terrorists do YOU know who do not terrorize?

and even if your question about terrorists and terrorizing were worded correctly, it would still be backwards. Certainly terrorists terrorize. But not all people or animals or places or things that TERRORIZE people are terrorISTS. see how that works? The words share the root "terror", but the word "terrorize" does NOT have a political component to its definition, ergo all people places or things that "terrorize" (bullies in the school yard, scary movies, haunted houses, darkened streets in sketchy neighborhoods, rabid dogs roaming around the cul de sac) are not "terrorists".

I'm not a christian

Ah, so it is "Do what I think you should or you will be judged by somebody who supposedly doesn't care?"

I'm not sure what your point is.

I didn't really have one. I didn't post the initial op. I don't think I've commented on this one much. But you asked generally - you didn't ask anyone in particular - why we hadn't given everything away and followed the quote in the op. So I'm letting you know why I don't do it.

You may have meant your comment more towards someone else.
