Kids would laugh or maybe not even notice the costuming. They would listen to the stories and go home as usual, just like they do when a person in a clown costume shows up for story time.

Of course they notice the costuming dumbass that's what holds their attention while the messages gets delivered. Why doesn't the person show up in normal street clothes? They're usually freakishly dressed and you think that's not on purpose? You're an idiot.
