Not "nothing but", just mostly.
Just as you're not responding to the implications of my question that SYG will encourage vigilantism by codifying a set of assumptions that magnifies the real degree of threat posed by “suspicious” persons whose intent is unknown and is exacerbated by racial profiling, as well as outright racism.this is a classic example of a non-response to pretending you are still in the conversation when you really aren't. SYG being a self defense argument was never in question. Clearly I was speaking on more general terms.

Well turn me in and crank up the electricity, because I always carry a small Swiss knife in my purse.
And how would that be the case? Why shouldn't there be a higher burden of proof as to what constitutes a specific threat so as to eliminate the vigilantism that has been witnessed in 12 of the 13 cases in Florida in which the SYG immunity has been used?i did respond. I am saying you can't just throw out the baby with the bath water.
And I'm not saying that SYG doesn't have it's merits. I'm saying that the Florida version is too ambiguously written and doesn't provide a high enough threshold for what constitutes a threat to your life and that it is leading to vigilantism that is not conducive to law and order.just because someone claims SYG, doesn't MAKE it SYG. Your problem is you are assuming every case of it being asserted is proof that it allows flimsy justifications. It doesn't. Most people that claim SYG and rightfully told they are full of shit.
All SYG is about is making sure you don't have to have a duty to retreat before using lethal self defense. If you are a woman and being raped, you don't need to worry about getting life in prison if you kill your attacker because "you might" have been able to run away. Same thing if you are attacked by some other criminal.
Lots of people plead insanity. That doesn't mean the insanity defense doesn't have its merits.

The knife the dead teen had on him doesn't matter, I guess.
Did he pull the knife out and threaten the guy with it?
Not "nothing but", just mostly.
what right winger do you know that denounces the patriot act, or NDAA, supports rights like abortion or gay marriage?
Didn't you read the testimony presented so far?
Cops found the knife in his pocket, not in his hand.

Another penile challanged gun nut is trying to get away with premeditated murder using Florida's "Stand your ground law" as an excuse. So far the evidence has been overwhelming that the teen (or his friends) had no weapons nor posed any threat what so ever to the killer, Michael Dunn.
Will Mr. Dunn recieve justice and will society be protected by putting this remorseless killer away for the rest of his life?
You know I'm no big fan of rap music either but I wouldn't kill someone for playing it!

Did I mention Zimmerman? You do understand that Zimmerman did not use that defense, right? What do you mean "another"?
Did I mention Zimmerman?
Carrying a knife is definitely punishable by death.
