per cnn today, the loss has increased to 5.8 billion with a potential further loss of 1.5 billion

once more derivatives are at the heart of the losses

when will they ever learn

bummer

Derivatives in and of themselves are not bad, in fact they can be very conservative ways to invest. It is the over-use of leverage that is the problem that the big banks continue to have. It seems to be getting worse in that they now know that Uncle Sam will bail them out if they are wrong, so they take more risk with little downside.

Sooner or later the public is going to have enough of the protection that DC is giving to Wall Street exec's. When you see the torches and pitch forks, odds are I may just join up with the mob to drag those bastards out.

Really! My Republican brother says the same thing, and I laugh just as hard! I am so sure! Not to mention the abuse I took from him during the times that I WAS marching on Wall Street! All of a sudden I'm not so crazy! I guess if you live long enough huh?

Really. I don't think I have ever stated anything other than my disdain for the Wall St execs and their incestuous relationship with DC. I also stated that the 'occupy' movement had some good ideas at the beginning, but they were hijacked by a bunch of morons.

I don't know that they need more regulations. They do need to be broken up into retail banks and investment banks. If they are too big to fail, they are too big to exist. Break them up.

I hope your health improves or at least allows for you to participate. We might just stop by and torch Darla's place for shits and giggles. I am sure she is in cahoots with those Wall St banks. ;)

Yes I am sure you will bring your torch!

I'll be here. :)

Wow! That is most negative thing I have ever seen SF post about Wall Street.

How about some Napalm?
Or White Phosphorous?
