JPP Fantasy Football - Just Plain Politics, The Legend!

Alright @Poor Richard Saunders , @Life is Golden - Phan has family event and won't be able to attend this week's zoom call, but Phan and I were on last week's zoom call and I think Phan's good to go with their team.

Instructions on how to join the zoom call is in our group PM, I'll start the meeting and wait about 10 minutes - if I don't see ya I'll figure you're not coming. Call begins at 12pm Cental/10am Pacific.

Seattle Reign Turns Bifocal Kid's Dreams into a Nightmare!

In a thrilling Week 1 showdown, Seattle Reign emerged victorious over Bifocal Kid with a score of 113.86 to 109.82, taking the lead on Sunday night. Seattle Reign's grade of B- suggests they did just enough to pass, while Bifocal Kid's D+ indicates they might want to consider a remedial course in fantasy football. Seriously, did they even study the matchups?

For Seattle Reign, Lamar Jackson was the shining star, scoring 29.36 points and proving that sometimes projections are just suggestions. Meanwhile, Ja'Marr Chase put the 'no' in 'no-show' with a dismal 3.6 points, leaving fans wondering if they accidentally started a benchwarmer. On the other side, Bifocal Kid's Ka'imi Fairbairn managed to scrape together 14 points, which is great if this were a toddler's soccer match. Unfortunately, Tee Higgins decided to take a vacation with only 4.8 points, probably sipping pia coladas instead of scoring.

With this win, Seattle Reign moves to a respectable 1-0-0, claiming the 3rd spot in the league. Bifocal Kid, however, is still searching for their first win at 0-1-0 and is currently sitting in 4th place, which is a cozy spot for the bottom-dwellers. Maybe they should consider changing their name to Bifocal Kid-Weak because that's how they performed this week. Can they bounce back next week or will they continue to be the punchline of the league?

Looking ahead, Seattle Reign faces off against ChiefPhan next week, and if they want to keep their winning streak alive, they might want to aim for something closer to their projection of 123.26 points. Meanwhile, Bifocal Kid has a date with LifeIsGolden904, and if they hope to avoid a second loss, they should probably start their best players instead of letting them take naps. Seriously, Bifocal Kid, it's time to wake up and smell the fantasy points!

Premature gloating will get you nowhere.

But suddenly Christian McCaffrey is listed as questionable. The dilemma of being a fantasy team owner.
Turns out the gloating was justified, my friend :)

With @Stone 's encouragement, I have set up a JPP fantasy football league. There are 8 spots still open after me and Stoney. It's free and it's fun. You select your current NFL players and play head-to-head each week for points. There are also playoffs, where the few in our league with the best records play against each other for the League trophy.

All you need to do, is set up your own yahoo account, PM me your email address and I will send you an invitation to join. There will be a live draft I have scheduled for 8/16, starting at 10am Pacific. If you don't want to participate in the live draft, teams will be picked for you - I did that once, started out with a computer-selected team, and I won the league :)

Anyway our League is called, "Just Plain Politics The Legend"

so send me your yahoo emails, and I will send you an invited - but work fast! Only 8 spots left!

I'm just seeing this thread for the first time. Big props for setting it up. I hope it's a hit and a blast. It's refreshing to see political opposites still able to connect outside the partisan mess. I think we've all watched society shift in our lifetime. People used to live and mingle without politics ever entering the equation. Politics stayed separate from daily life, friendships, or definitely in casual encounters. Now, it's crept into everything, from the straw you sip through to the bag at the grocery store. Not long ago, politics only surfaced a month or two before elections or in some nerdy corner of a coffee shop or cyber cafe. (remember those, lol)

Anyway, it's nice to see a fantasy football league, pure, all-American fun, bring 'ideological rivals' together for a good time. Thanks, Lurch, for leading the charge.

Yep, my friend, that's why I did it. If we're all still alive next year you are more than welcome to join. I had to open up the league to strangers prior to this year's draft because not enough interest here. Hoping to fill the league with 100% JPP members next year!

Thanks for your interest!

@Phantasmal , you need to go get a TE off waivers. Your TE spot is empty for this week's match. Let me know if you need help doing it, we can have another Zoom call, if you'd like!

Alright football fans! It's Week2! This week, Lurch is taking on @Phantasmal . Lurch is projected to win by the Yahoo AI by about 10 points, hoping to maintain his undefeated record after spanking @Poor Richard Saunders in Week 1.

@Life is Golden is taking on Richard this week as well and Richard is projected to beat Goldie handily. Goldie still needs to draw a TE and a DEF from waivers.

Should be a rockin' week y'all! Let's get ready for some football!

Good Luck! Let the games begin!

Go Chiefs

I am being creamed…🤣😱
Don't tell me! I don't want to look at the score until I'm done with the DVR of the Hawks game! SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :)

But in all seriousness, it's way early in the season. You can draw massively valuable players off waivers once you see how they perform over the first few weeks!

There's a looong way to go! Plus - don't forget, we have playoffs!

Ok, now, @Phantasmal . I would LOOOOOOVE to take credit for this score, but I've got to tell you it's just a "perfect storm". All my players are having a tremendous week. The same thing will happen to you!
