I truly feel sorry for you. I know that the inflationary spike that happened because of COVID has caused prices to go high. Thankfully the inflation RATE has gone back down so hopefully if the prices can be brought back down things will chug along nicely. As for the rest of the dark age I'm not sure I quite see it that way.

How's your retirement doing? Mine's doing gangbusters the past three years. Like nothing I've ever seen. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you log into your 401k account and look at it.

But if the main sticking point is the current high prices, what is Trump going to do to bring them down? I've heard tariffs floated but that only works on a longer term. Tariffs are going to massively increase the cost of goods well and above even the worst inflation we've seen. And if the goal is to encourage corporations to move back to the US I am ALL FOR THAT but realize it will result in:

1. Extreme cost increases as businesses reorganize to come back onshore
2. Extreme cost increases as businesses re-establish our long dead manufacturing infrastructure
3. Extreme cost increases as the operating costs of the companies will skyrocket because we will be paying living wages to Americans instead of slave wages to poor Southeast Asians.

Dont' get me wrong: I would LOVE it if America pulled more of its manufacturing back onshore. But it ain't gonna be cheap. And it ain't gonna reduce the cost of goods and services.

Tariffs have a role in international trade but they are more a scalpel than a sledge hammer. Trying to do heart surgery with a sledge hammer will not result in the best outcomes for the patient.

Are you kidding me? Israel has a functioning economy. They manufacture many of their own weapons, and even export them. If the US stopped trading with them, I'm sure China, Russia, or somebody else would happily become their major trading partner. Maybe India.

At the same time, the US takes a major hit on technology as partnerships between US manufacturers like Intel and Raytheon would end.

The Palestinians offer NOTHING. They have no really functioning economy. They're largely dependent on foreign aid like useless welfare clients offering nothing in return.

Israel's GDP last year was 509 billion. Total US aid to Israel that year was just over $12 billion. That's about 2% of the Israeli economy.

Palestinian GDP was 17 billion last year. Total aid to Palestine represents about 2% of their economy also.
