Judge rejects RNC bid to end minority voter protections

translation:

i can't prove my point

and please provide the court case that said ID cards are a poll tax, i don't believe such a case exists

and it is fuckign stupid to think that only minorities couldn't afford an ID card....you racist, as if only minorities are poor.....and as i said, i see no problem for a fee waiver, courts have them all the time for certain documents/filings that are required....

as i pointed out from your OP article....even the judge doesn't think its about racism....yet you do....we have a minority president, a minority AG, a minority head of the RNC....but oh no, minorities still need special protection

Refusing to do your homework for you says nothing about my point. My point was made by the people during the court proceedings both now and back in the 80s. It's a matter of record now and it's up to you to go figure out the facts behind it if you're curious.

It's a state issue, voter IDs are. And where it effected me when I was in college in Missouri, the state court struck it down in Oct of 2006 as unconstitutional. You can find the case law yourself if you don't believe me. "You fail." And guess what? I was still asked (illegally) at the polling station to show my ID.

ID cards are getting off the point of IBstupids post...

The RNC was proving that mail delivered to the addresses on some voters registration cards was fraudulent...
the person either didn't live there or there was no such address....so their application to register was invalid from the get go....it is not exclusive to minorities or blacks or blues or greens....

This fraud makes no difference to Democrats because its perpetrated by them almost exclusively, especially through ACORN.......

IBstupid just prefers to remain....IBstupid...

Page 4 confirms exactly what I stated along with major negative embellishment from events that are now over 30 years old and are hardly something that could be done in todays environment....uniformed police scaring away blacks from voting in 2008...bullshit in the extreme....
in light of what happened on election day 2008....you sir, are the ignorant fuck.....

---------------------------------------
President Obama's Justice Department continues to stonewall inquiries about why it dropped a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party.

The episode—which Bartle Bull, a former civil rights lawyer and publisher of the left-wing Village Voice, calls "the most blatant form of voter intimidation I've ever seen"—began on Election Day 2008. Mr. Bull and others witnessed two Black Panthers in paramilitary garb at a polling place near downtown Philadelphia. (Some of this behavior is on YouTube.)

One of them, they say, brandished a nightstick at the entrance and pointed it at voters and both made racial threats. Mr. Bull says he heard one yell "You are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker!"

There was outrage over the decision among Congressional Republicans, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, and in the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division—especially after it was learned one of the defendants who walked was Jerry Jackson, a member of Philadelphia's 14th Ward Democratic Committee and a credentialed poll watcher for the Democratic Party last Election Day.

But don't anyone dare fuckin' ask for a photo ID or if the voter is really a citizen....

you still have nothing specific....(yawn)

you make a claim it is up to you to back it up and provide sources....not me genius...

i have no idea why you're so scared of showing id at the voting booth....you must be scared of something....and there is no federal court case that says that, maybe a state case....but the issue of voter ID is still ripe and up for discussion....verifying who is voting is proper, it is not intimidation at all....to claim that is pure fear mongering and shows you're scared of having people show ID's....i wonder why

the libs don't give a shit about black racism/voter intimidation.....it only counts if whitey does it

RNC WORKING TO REVOKE MINORITY VOTING PROTECTIONS

WTF about revoking minority voting protections isn't racist, Yurt? The rules were put in place against the RNC in the 80s because it was shown in court that the RNC was racist and was committing voter fraud. Now they're trying to revoke the rules so they can do it again.

Jesus, you're so goddamned retarded sometimes. This couldnt be more fucking clear.

it wasn't proven in court....they reached a settlement....this is exactly why i keep asking you for specifics....all of the acts were ALLEGED, never proven, they settled due to outside pressure, stupid is as stupid does IMO

i can't believe how scared some of you libs are when it comes to anyone trying to prevent or remedy voter fraud....it must be racist because the RNC is doing it....

what is bullshit about the decree is that it only applies to the RNC...i can't even believe such a decree doesn't violate EP....but i guess they stupidly agreed to it and it should be struck down....

there simply is no longer a need for this decree....i hope the RNC appeals this

Voter Intimidation is no problem....

almost makes you think we ought to have off duty policemen patrolling the polling stations, doesn't it......

you spoiled my fun :)

i have been waiting for ib1 to show me the court case that said voter id cards are a poll tax....i have repeatedly asked him and told him that no such case exists....i really was hoping he would try to pull one over on us....

but alas, he is to easily pwned again, as we know that scotus did in fact uphold indiana's voter id requirement.....it was only a year ago and amazingly ib1 didn't know about it, yet he claims others aren't in the know....

A federal judge in New Jersey on Tuesday rejected an attempt by the Republican National Committee to end nearly three-decade-old restrictions on GOP "ballot security" programs that historically discriminated against minority voters.

In a ruling that extended the restrictions for at least another eight years, but also slightly narrowed the consent decree containing them, U.S. District Court Judge Dickinson Debevoise of Newark asserted that “voter intimidation presents an ongoing threat to the participation of minority individuals in the political process.”

The consent decree stems from a lawsuit brought in the early 1980s in New Jersey by the Democratic National Committee, which accused the Republican National Committee of suppressing minority voters under the guise of guarding against voter fraud, partly by challenging their registrations if mail sent to their residences was returned as undeliverable, and by stationing off-duty police around polling places in minority neighborhoods.

Is there anyone left wondering why people call Republicans racist?

Why do Democrats insist on protecting fraudulent voter registrations ?
To cheat of course....thats the way they stay in power...cheat.
And the liberal judges legislating from the bench help them.

"The DNC countered that the RNC was exaggerating the danger of voter fraud and said the potential for such fraud is outweighed by the risk of voter intimidation efforts by Republican groups, pointing to a recent decision by the New Jersey court that the RNC had engaged in illegal voter challenges as recently as the 2004 presidential election."

exaggerating the danger of voter fraud ?
PROTECTING the integrity of elections IS
NOT cheating, IS NOT fraud. Voting is for the
CITIZENS and LEGAL RESIDENTS of their districts....

Real cheaters doing real jail time.....REAL DEMOCRATS

handfuls of votes in a nation of voters is definitely exaggerating the danger of voter fraud.... yes indeed it is.

and to post a few articles about democrats and imply that republicans aren't equally as guilty is just typical partisan hackery from one of the kings of it.
