Yeah, that's EXACTLY what I thought. Amphetamines are brain stimulants that can normalise sluggish cognitive function in a person with incipient dementia. Somthing like Adderall can temporarily improve all aspects of functioning in the pre-frontal cortex of the brain which is where the most sophisticated brain processes are located. Adderall or Dexedrine or Vyvanse given in an appropriate dose will also raise IQ by at least 5 points, increase focus, enhance capacity for sustained concentration, improve impaired Working Memory (one of Biden's big problems), and , sharpen you up cognitively in general.
Basically, Biden is experiencing the relatively early stages of dementia, so the amphetamine or methylphenidate type stimulants he is being given will successfully mask his symptoms of forgetfulness, confusion, mood swings, aggression, emotional lability, impaired speech. The drugs will "save his bacon" for the time being, as I think the public were starting to cotton on to the fact that Biden has dementia (and there is no doubt whatsoever that he does) and this is simply not compatible with remaining in a race for the Presidential nomination. Full Stop.
The problem for Biden is that dementia is a mental disorder the becomes progressively more severe with time, eventually Biden's condition will degenerate to a point where the stimulants he is using now, whether they are amphetamine -based or methylphenidate-based will not be able to mask his symptoms. That's why doctors do not tret the mental retardation of a person with Down's Syndrome using amphetamines. The degree of cognitive/intellectual retardation is too severe. It wouldn't matter how much amphetamine you administered to, say, an adult with Down's Syndrome, they will not suddenly become normal, rationally competent people. They will remain retarded.
Another problem with using psychostimulants like amphetamine ("Adderral) to mask the signs and symptoms of dementia (which I am almost certain Biden is now doing) is that tolerance develops rapidly with amphetamines and other related stimulant drugs. "Tolerance" is a term that psychiatrists (and other doctors) use. Tolerance means that you will need to take larger and larger doses of a drug to maintain the same effect over time. Amphetamines and other similar psychostimulants (like "Ritalin") are notorious for inducing rapid tolerance. And one you have become tolerant to a stimulant like amphetamine, you are pretty much "hooked" i.e. addicted. Then you are really "up shit creek." Just ask any "Meth - Head", if ever you meet one, what it's like inside his head.
Finally, I do not think Biden - even if it turns out he does manage to win the Democratic Presidential nomination - has any chance of defeating Trump in November 2020.( I don't think ANY Democrat contender for the Presidency has a hope in hell of beating Trump, in fact I am looking forward to seeing a bloodbath like the one in 1972 when George McGovern,a Democrat "pinko-liberal", went up again Richard Nixon. From memory, Nixon won that election in a 48 state landslide).
But since we are talking politics and it's true (to a point) that anything can happen, let's suppose that Biden goes on to win the Democrat nomination and then somehow manages to defeat Trump in the in November election this year. It means that you would now have a POTUS who is a "speed-freak" running America. which is...erm...to put it mildly, just a tad dangerous.
That would never happen of course because, the Democratic Establishment, would ensure that Biden's dementia was officially confirmed by an expert neurologist/s the moment he set foot in the Oval Office, and promptly remove him from office using the 25th Amendment. The establishment would then slot in its preferred President, someone, would was a nice centrist/moderate Democrat who was reliable and who would always do exactly what s/he was told to do. Someone, for example, like Hillary Clinton.
