There is nothing classy about politics. Look how many people call Chris Christie a fat ass. It's part of the game man and women who play at the highest level (or want to) will suffer the same indignities men do. I'm not saying it's the right thing but it is a reality.

Good looks aren't a guarantee of victory. One must have the political clout to accompany it. Even then, it is not a guarantee of victory, but it certainly helps. Unfortunately, I think this would carry even more weight for a female candidate. You know as well as I do that men judge women based on their looks more than visa-versa.

Again, I'm not saying that's how it should be, or that I like it. But that's how the cookie crumbles.

You only have to look at US TV as an example. CSI is full of drop dead gorgeous women working as pathologists and lab technicians, that's really based on reality!!

Just to be clear I am a big supporter of Gillibrand's. She's awesome. I love our bench actually. I would definitely support her. But Chris Christie weighs 400 pounds. Yes he is made fun of , but that's extreme. I do not believe that male presidents have to be "fuckable" in order to be elected. Which is what you guys are talking about here. Gillibrand's conventional fuckability should neither qualify nor disqualify her for higher office. And just because some idiots on the internet find Warren unfuckable (and that's not universal), does not disqualify her.
 
My point was simply that if you run for President you will get subjected to everything. TMZ went to Paul Ryan's fraternity at Miami-Ohio and asked if there were any shirtless photos of him in the archives. It is my belief due to the nature of our politics that women would have to go through the same shit.
