well I'm afraid that I just can't accept the stupid code bullshit that a person of a certain color can use a derogatory word as a sign of affection, but those of other colors cannot. so no, you're bullshit explanation just doesn't fly.

But know that when you say that word, it is a hell of a lot different than when 2 African Americans use it with each other. And you & I have absolutely no idea what their fathers & grandfathers & great grandfathers had to go through while that word was spewed at them.

being that i'm of native american ancestry, cherokee to be exact, I just might have some idea.

What I do find hard to understand is if that word is so uniquely repellent, then why is that not so long ago it was used on primetime US TV?

To your 1st question - no. Did I say something that gave you that idea?

On the 2nd one, no - I don't think that gives you much in terms of understanding what it means to hear the "n word" in that context.

I won't even attempt to talk about Honey Foo Foo or whatever....as long as you enjoy it, have a ball....

And of course you couldn't care less about Fox TV ratings....they're great...and compared to their counterpart, MSNBC, they're astronamical....

They, of course, are the balance because every other network is so far to the left politically, completely and totally in support of Democrats and skews
their coverage of news accordingly....its like watching a weatherman tell you every day is sunny and warm as you freeze your ass off in the rainy real world....

FOX is the only place to hear both sides of an issue. The only place to see both side come face to face in give and take, and thats the last thing
you want to hear....both sides, that is.

Cripes - sorry on the 1st part. I did mean to say "I'm not telling you what you can & can't say." My bad on that.

As to the 2nd part, the Native American experience in America & the African American experience are 2 different animals. I wouldn't even begin to claim that I understand what either was or is like. But I defer to those groups on that - I don't make that call.

If African Americans want to try to minimize the impact of the "n word" by using as we hear it being used in the African American community, hooray for that. That doesn't mean I get an invite to join in, because that word coming from a white guy is a whole different thing. As time passes, that likely will change, and what we're seeing is the 1st step toward that word becoming inconsequential.

But it isn't today. If you don't believe me, give it a whirl.

You and Christie are always good for a chuckle....Yeah, CNN got rid of Carville too...you actually think these changes are a big deal...
The elections are over, its reasonable that viewers will change their viewing habits....
When all the other big news networks combined don't add up to FOX viewers, they can afford to lose a few.....
All that said....
the shows are getting old...and predictable and even a little boring....they could use some change and I hope they do exactly that.....
O_Reilly can't be #1 forever....its just common sense....hes had a great run, but......
