Just watched the complete Trump / Z meeting.

Imagine a guy breaks into your house, punches your wife, beats your kids, and takes over your living room. Then the cops, who you're friends with, show up and say "Tell you what, you pay me $20 and let him keep the living room and we'll just call this even, eh?"

Someone gave him some VERY bad advice and some false promises and it wasn't Trump.

I pretty much agree except the part about the pre-public rehearsal. Yes, the parameters were definitely ironed out and yes I do think that Zelensky was badly coached to wreck the deal. I don't think they got in a room and worked out how it should go in public. That is definitely the norm and is expected but not at all Trump's style.

I think Zelensky’s a marionette dangling from corruption’s greasy strings. I also think he’s scrambling for one last fat stack before any deal’s inked. I’d wager he pawned his soul three winters back to some shadowy goons who’ve got him by the short hairs, whispering “get it done or your ‘future’ sleeps with the fishes.” He waltzed in expecting a hush-hush powwow, no cameras, ready to torch the talks and pin it on Trump’s “wild man” shtick, then as the deal drags on so does the fighting and the need for more cash. But Trump’s crew sniffed out that clown’s erratic stench from past meltdowns. Our boy Don flipped the script, left Zelensky flapping in the breeze like a soggy sock. Just my two cents, just a hunch.

trump thought that he could corner Zelenskyy into agreeing to surrender by doing it in front of cameras. It does sound dumb when you think about it.

trump is famed for refusing to spend hours in a room with advisors. We know how long Zelenskyy was in the White House. Just because you "feel" something should be true, does not make it so.

Point blank...............The Russians are NOT going to attack westward into Poland and the heart of Europe. To think so is blatant stupidity. Do you know why they wouldn't? Because quite frankly they will get their asses annihilated and it wont be close,....his army would die there,...all of it. Believe me, the Poles and the Germans along with other Europeans forces would love nothing better than to kill the Russian army once and for all. NATO would absolutely rout them. So please people,...quit talking nonsense,...Putin wont attack,...he may be a grade one prick but the man isn't crazy. Even he knows he doesn't have the hand,....he would be dealt with quickly and harshly and it would be quite rapid.
 
THIS is what happens when Russians attack American troops. The were absolutely wiped out at break neck speed and it happened while POTUS TRUMP was in power. There will be more killing to see who controls Odesa. Putin won't allow ship loads of missiles into port.

I agree with Toby.

trump was hoping to put Zelenskyy on the spot in front of everyone, and just have him agree to having his country exterminated. Zelenskyy fired back.

They have no intention of letting Odessa be destroyed in war, there is speculation that the Russians will demand a referendum....the people will be told to decide.....Rump of Ukraine.....or Russia.

They are Russian speakers mostly, Odessa is a long time Russian city, and Russia just humiliated the collective West.....they are winners...

The theory is that the people will choose Russia.

Not yet, but Putin has already claimed that Poland will be conquered. Remember, Poland was part of the Russian Empire that Putin is trying to reassemble.

Poland is about the same size and population as Ukraine. It is not a huge difference.

That the goal was weaken Russia, remove Putin, then hopefully break Russia up so that the Rape of Russia that was going on under Yeltsin could resume is a huge point to remember.
