In my 20 years of message boarding adventures, a mainstay of the rightwing was always to bluster about second amendment solutions, watering the tree of liberty with blood, and fighting to the death against socialism.

If your Kraken conspiracy theories were actually true, I would think if any time was going to be "go time" this should have been it. I mean, what better reason is there to grab the AK-47 and report for duty, than an election stolen by Dark forces bent on the demise of our cherished Republic and the illegitimate installation of a Marxist-Leninist regime?

If that was not go time, then when exactly is go time supposed to be?

There's no time schedule for justice in America anymore. I don't dwell on it. It's only politics. It's the way it is. It's fully integrated
into even the medical mainstream now. What will be, will be. Have a lovely peaceful Sunday. Focus on the big picture and have peace.

Well it only makes sense that Russian agents have the goal of causing Americans anger, infighting and hatred, (which is very much to their advantage - why attack America if you can get America to attack itself?) It is then logical that they would search for internet chat rooms in which to pose as posters and stir up hatred. It is totally logical that they found an American site named "Just Plain Politics" created fake accounts; and set up bots to antagonize the conversations.

Our goal in fighting back is to not fall for it.

It is also logical that on-edge emotional Americans would react to the prodding with vitriol of their own. Once that happens, the Russians have achieved their goal.

Bots can be difficult to spot. One possible method is humor. Bots have no sense of humor. If you try to joke around with another poster, and tell a commonly very funny joke just to test them, and get absolutely no acknowledgement of it, not even a simple lol, as if you never made a joke at all, you could be wasting your time talking to a bot.

Another method is by using phonetics to say something. Bots will absolutely not be able to recognize what you are saying. If you suspect you are talking to a bot, and you want to test them, simply tell them that you are not convinced you are even talking to a human and ask them to prove it by responding to some very simply question written in phonetic terms or badly misspelled terms that a human would recognize, but a bot would not be able to read. It appears to a machine to be gibberish.

For instance:

"I only wish to speak with real people. Can you please prove to me that you are actually a person by answering this question? Thanks. Just try to pronounce these words very slowly to reveal the question:

Wotttz duh kuulller ahhv da ssky?"

A bot cannot read that.

If the poster responds with anything but the word blue you could be talking to a machine. If the poster refuses to play along, you're either talking to a bot, or whomever you are talking to is simply not worth talking to.

But the ultimate test of whether you are trying to have a conversation with a bot is mutual respect. Bots do not have a character. They have no personality. There's no there, there, ya know?

Any real human shows emotion from time to time. Some more, some less, but a machine simply lacks any at all.

Once I began requiring that the people I talk to share simple respect, I noticed that everybody I talk to has a personality. If you're talking to a machine it will often simply ignore what you say and just say what it was programmed to say instead. If you're not getting the simple respect of having someone actually respond to what you say, you could be talking to a machine.

The easiest way to ensure that you are talking with humans is to require simple respect, and offer the same in return. That can be a real challenge if you have a habit of mouthing off at people, but habits can be changed if you force yourself to act differently for 2-3 weeks. After that you no longer have to because good manners will be your new habit.

It could change your life for the better.

If you don't want to do that, or think you just can't do it, you can always try one of the other methods above.

After gabby giffords was shot I made a thread I which I promised to be civil for a year (I was posting at a different site at that time)

I kept my word

No insulting people


Decent people did not engage me for that whole year


The only ones who engauged me were the right wing scum trying to get me to insult back


They didn’t get what they wanted


I went through that whole year not insulting them back


I answered every question full of insults civilly and with mountains of facts


When that year ended I started another thread promising an insult for every person who engauged me


It was hilarious

I would again answer every question and include a mountain of facts


And then an insult


I would often have apologize and go back and include an insult as I forgot to insult them


That is when I discovered how creative I could make an insult


Two year experiment


It proved to me how the right is constructed


It’s clued me into fake posters


Creative insults confused them


And the hits on my posts proved what got people to read posts


In real life I am VERY nice to people

I know it may be hard for you to believe but it’s true







Bots will be at a site 24/7

They can be programmed to be emotive

In fact the FBI found a that they would target certain groups and be complimentary and agree with you all the time in your stance


UNTIL it came to manipulating you to certain ideas


They targeted the black community to be your buddy and agree and compliment you

And then convince you voting was useless

To convince you both parties were trash


When supposed lefties here begin to tell me the Democratic Party is just as evil as this current Republican Party guess what my FIRST thought about them is

The sensationalism of creative nasty insults may generate site traffic but it also has the effect of lowering oneself to the same level of those being insulted. This makes it extremely difficult to claim the higher ground.

It is a total violation of the Michelle Rule:

"When they go low, we go higher."

We will never know how many good people poke their heads in here, see all the nastiness, and immediately do an about-face, never to return.

We will never know what awesome reasonable arguments they could have made in functional political discussions.

I am teaching people how to deflect these evils with example


Teaching them what the fight looks like


I know you find the invective annoying
