Except that the shooting is what brought police to the scene, where they discovered the pot plantation. SmarterThanFew or some other Oaf Freeper will be along soon to decry the injustice of it all.

code word for justifying a warrantless search. They had the homeowner and suspect in hand, no reason to believe there were any other persons of danger in the home. The appeals court will end up overturning the district courts refusal to suppress the evidence and this guys conviction will be overturned, then the city of newcastle will settle for hundreds of thousands to avoid the 4th Amendment lawsuit.
