Kamala will restore women's rights as the first female president

Don't you agree?
No, I don't. Even for women, abortion is not a top issue. The economy and inflation hold that position. Abortion is a once, twice, in a lifetime thing for a woman at most. Not being able to afford rent, groceries, or gas is an everyday, right now, thing. Illegal immigration is an issue particularly if you live in a state where there's a lot of it.

For example, I live in Arizona. Everybody I know has had within their lifetime of living here (for long term > 10 years) residents some sort of issue with illegals. The most common is having an accident or your car stolen and it ends up in Mexico. With accidents, the illegal flees the state, and probably the country. You get stuck with the loss and your insurance goes up as a result.

The other one is shoddy work by illegals. I know of at least two cases where a contractor used illegals to do electrical work and burned people's houses down. I see their work regularly too. When I open a box in some house or apartment and see electrical tape on everything, I know an illegal worked on it. Nicked insulation resulting in conductors exposed, overstuffed boxes, loose connections, improper wire stripping, wrong sized wiring, all of it, and usually it's an illegal that did it.

Abortion is a top issue with about 12% of the population and almost all of that is concentrated with single women under 30 years old. That makes it a fringe issue with a specific voting bloc, but not something that resonates as a general issue that will win elections.

Abortion is, essentially, a loser as a political issue. The economy and illegal immigration are the top two right now, and both are losers for the Democrats. They can't defend either given the last four years.

Look at the dates on those news items.

The poll you dismissed indicates that isn't the case, doesn't it?
So? One disparate data point means nothing. Put more simply, one poll is a data point. A dozen polls, or more, over a period of time show what's happening. 538, a poll aggregator does this, for example with political races. Pew and Gallup do it too.

As you can see from this aggregate Pew graph, abortion is only important to Harris supporters and generally doesn't resonate as a top issue with voters.

Gallup says the same thing.

One poll that is contrary or an outlier means NOTHING on its own. Abortion is almost a non-issue right down there with "climate change."

Out-of-date polling is hardly more accurate, is it?

Harris holds 2:1 lead in early voting – as poll goers cite abortion as a main issue

Abortion has overtaken immigration to become the second most important issue, behind the economy, for voters heading into the 2024 election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, Newsweek polling suggests.

Abortion has overtaken immigration :rofl2:

You don't get it. Multiple polls over time more accurately reflect opinion than a single poll on a single date. Do you really think that overnight, somehow the importance of issues to people changed? It's highly improbable. Abortion has not been a significant issue, except to young women and the Left, since this election campaign began. Why should it suddenly change two weeks before the election? What occurred to make that happen?

The answer is, nothing significant has changed, and abortion is not a major issue this election. It's that simple. Months of polling confirm that.
