Kid Rock is facing backlash after being announced as the headliner of an alternative Super Bowl halftime show, and footage of his drunken rant has resurfaced

Video footage of Kid Rock delivering a drunk tirade has reemerged in the lead-up to this weekend's Super Bowl.

The 55-year-old Detroit musician was revealed earlier this week as the main act for Turning Point USA's counter-programming event, scheduled to air opposite Bad Bunny's highly anticipated halftime performance.

Conservative supporters have been pushing for a Super Bowl boycott since the 31-year-old Puerto Rican artist was confirmed as the halftime headliner, prompting Turning Point USA to organize an alternative broadcast for those uninterested in Bad Bunny's show.

Critics have argued that Rock falls short when compared to Bad Bunny, highlighting the significant disparity in streaming numbers between the two performers.

Fresh attention has now turned to resurfaced clips showing Rock in a booze-fueled, profanity-laden outburst, where the musician targeted Oprah Winfrey and The View panelist Joy Behar during a live appearance, as stunned onlookers questioned whether his comments were racially motivated, reports the Express US.

At his Nashville honky-tonk steakhouse venue, Kid Rock, drink in hand, declared, "F--- Oprah Winfrey and f--- Joy Behar."

The inebriated entertainer also maintained he wasn't racist, though he appeared unsteady on his feet throughout the performance.

In the clip, originally published by TMZ in 2019, a spectator can be heard remarking, "He's racist. Look at him, he's blacked out."

Following the emergence of footage showing the incident, Rock stood by his comments, stating on Tucker Carlson Originals, "A drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts. I own what I said.

"I don't apologize to anybody. I'm not an Oprah Winfrey fan," he continued. "I got drunk, and f----- next thing, I'm onstage saying, 'F--- Oprah.'".

Rock also revealed he had intended to target comedian Kathy Griffin over her controversial photoshoot featuring a bloodied Trump mask, but mistakenly called out former Today show presenter Kathie Lee Gifford instead, someone he described as having been "friendly" with over the years.

He explained, "I was trying to go after Kathy Griffin, you know, for holding up Trump's head, but I'm so out of it, I'm like, 'F--- Kathie Lee Gifford.'".

When the performance clip resurfaced online, Rock faced widespread backlash on social media, with one user posting on X, "There goes the MAGA halftime show on Sunday."

Another commented, "This is the savior of Christian values? This guy? The guy who once sung about statutory rape being 'mandatory'? MAGA just can't help making themselves out to be embarrassing jokes in every possible situation."

A third questioned, "Isn't that every Kid Rock concert?" while another remarked, "He hasn't been relevant in 20 years why do we care.

"This the best TPUSA could do? They are a not long for this world," someone else shared.

"He was irrelevant years ago," one critic stated, whilst another asked, "People actually pay money to see this?" This development follows Rock's response to criticism surrounding his role as headliner for the forthcoming All-American Halftime Show, which will also showcase Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett.

He seemingly addressed his critics with a post on his X account, previously Twitter, ahead of Sunday's major event.

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone should have one about you," his post, quoting the late Kobe Bryant, stated.

"Haters are a good problem to have. Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones."

Turning Point USA's halftime show, positioned as a direct counter to Bad Bunny's performance, will broadcast its event, promoted as celebrating "faith, family, and freedom," across its social media platforms.

The show will also be available on multiple conservative television networks, including Real America's Voice and OAN.

MAGA hero Kid Rock makes Bad Bunny seem like a saint in comparison.

He's a good representative for what MAGA is truly about; White Nationalist Pedophiles and putting all white males above both laws and morals.

This is why Trump loves him so much.

"Young ladies, young ladies, I like 'em underage. See, some say that's statutory, but I say it's mandatory."
