Killers love guns

PITTSBURGH – A man opened fire on officers during a domestic disturbance call Saturday morning, killing three of them, a police official said. Friends said he had been upset recently about losing his job and that he feared the Obama administration was poised to ban guns.

Three officers were killed, said a police official at the scene who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. Police spokeswoman Diane Richard would only say that at least five officers were wounded, but wouldn't give any other details.

Police planned to release more details at a mid-afternoon news conference Saturday.

The man who fired at the officers was arrested after a several-hour standoff. One witness reported hearing hundreds of shots.

The shootings occurred just two weeks after four police officers were fatally shot March 21 in Oakland, Calif., in the deadliest day for U.S. law enforcement since Sept. 11, 2001.

Police did not immediately release the gunman's identity, but his friends identified him as Richard Poplawski, 23. They described him as a young man who thought the Obama administration would ban guns.

One friend, Edward Perkovic, said Poplawski feared "the Obama gun ban that's on the way" and "didn't like our rights being infringed upon." Another longtime friend, Aaron Vire, said Poplawski feared that President Obama was going to take away his rights, though he said he "wasn't violently against Obama."

Perkovic, a 22-year-old who said he was Poplawski's best friend, said he got a call at work from him in which he said, "Eddie, I am going to die today. ... Tell your family I love them and I love you."

More emotional drivel. The fact remains that if you add up all the accidental deaths by guns, murders by guns, suicides by guns and mysterious happenings by guns, you would still have less than one-half of one-tenth of one percent of the number of gun owners in this country.

You could snap at anytime also, shoot someone because they look different, lost your job, got divorced, got cut off in traffic, or because someone has a different political ideology than you.

Or just for the simple fact that you can shoot someone and end their life.

This is too much power for people to have, gunlovers are not god!

that is the price of freedom in America. If you don't like it, move somewhere else that doesn't value freedom as much as we do here.

So because someone might possibly snap in the future, you want to ban all guns?

I could snap and drive my truck into a crowded sidewalk or into a mall and kill more people. Do we ban privately owned vehicles too?

The fact that you want to amend the US Constitution based on what MIGHT happen is a sign of your own fear, not any reality.

You MIGHT snap and rob someone someday. Why don't we go ahead and put you in jail now.

You might snap and try ot kill yourself. Why don't we commit you into a psychiatric institution now.

Oh, my gosh, one of the most overused mantras of the connies...you know they haven't got anything better when they start spouting this one! Sorry, Smarter, but it is so trite! and I thought you had more going for you than this!

and one of the stupidest mistakes that liberals make is assuming that i'm a con. I thought you had more going for you than that.

That's always your answer, love it or leave it.

I don't have to move, I can help change the law.

If you don't like the new law, you can obey it or not, if you think you can take the consequences.

4 cops shot in Oakland, 3 more in Pittsburgh and the horror in Binghampton with the massacre of 13 innocent victims all at the hands of deranged individuals having access to firearms.

We the people have had enough.

DNC is just a lying hack....

there are far greater causes of death than guns in teh US, but DNC only wants to ban guns....

he hates our constitution and our country

Many animals suffer prolonged, painful deaths when they are injured but not killed by hunters.

A member of the Maine Bowhunters Alliance estimates that 50 percent of animals who are shot with crossbows are wounded but not killed.

A study of 80 radio-collared white-tailed deer found that of the 22 deer who had been shot with “traditional archery equipment,” 11 were wounded but not recovered by hunters.(8) Twenty percent of foxes who have been wounded by hunters are shot again; 10 percent manage to escape, but “starvation is a likely fate” for them, according to one veterinarian.

A South Dakota Department of Game, Fish, and Parks biologist estimates that more than 3 million wounded ducks go “unretrieved” every year.

A British study of deer hunting found that 11 percent of deer who’d been killed by hunters died only after being shot two or more times and that some wounded deer suffered for more than 15 minutes before dying.

Hunting disrupts migration and hibernation patterns and destroys families. For animals like wolves, who mate for life and live in close-knit family units, hunting can devastate entire communities.

The stress that hunted animals suffer, caused by fear and the inescapable loud noises and other commotion that hunters create, also severely compromises their normal eating habits, making it hard for them to store the fat and energy that they need in order to survive the winter.
Far more will suffer prolonged and painful deaths if we do not allow hunters to cull the herds.

Hey DNC, just another example of your research being flawed.

From:http://www.wonderquest.com/animal-mate-for-life.htm

"Wolves, for example, are generally monogamous but also breed polygamously if the male is unrelated to the female and prey is plentiful. Moreover, they sometimes have more than one mate in a lifetime, says Dan Stahler, biologist at the Yellowstone Gray Wolf Restoration Program run by the National Park Service. This happens "if one mate dies, gets kicked out of the pack, or is physically unable to breed due to injury, illness, etc.""

From: http://www.wolftrust.org.uk/a-reproduction.html

Mating Relations

Wolves tend to be monogamous. They mate for life and if one partner dies the surviving wolf will likely look for another mate. However, at the same time as raising one family, some male wolves will mate with a second female and help raise her family too. Whether a wolf raises a second family depends on taking advantage of mating opportunities and a plentiful supply of food to sustain another female and her cubs. When mates and food are sparse, males and females are more restrained. In addition, as in human relations, wolf pairs sometimes split up. Like human relationships, wolf mating arrangements are flexible within certain limits."

From: http://www.timberwolfinformation.org/info/qa/wolfq&as.html

"Do wolves mate for life?
Sometimes. A wolf pair may mate until one dies and then the living mate will find another mate. If the surviving mate is old, it may be supplanted as the alpha animal by a younger wolf."

So how about you stop making shit up?? Try using actual facts. It makes the debate so much more clear.

Although, right now it is clear that you have no case and are making up "facts" to try and have one.

If you don't like the facts you make them up to suit you. That is what I have seen here.

Yes, we hear all the time about people using trucks to massacre people, don't we?

Guns are a preventable cause of violence that many sane societies have got rid of.

Guns have only 1 purpose, the taking of life.

And over 80 million people in this country have decided to exercise their freedom to own them. You cannot disarm the criminals, only the law abiding citizens.

You want to ban guns because someone MIGHT snap and kill someone. And then you want to ridicule me because I suggest truck are deadly.

We can try. Those who you call criminals are often the victims of societal injustice, and are forced to live outside the law by institutional racism. By striving to eliminate injustice and unfairness we will reduce crime.

BTW, where do you think "criminals" get their guns?

From people like you!

Oh please, that is such bullshit. If a person CHOOSES to commit a violent crime, they should be punished. There are certainly exceptions, but they are an extreme minority, not the norm.

More facts you just make up?

I am sure some guns are stolen. And these stolen guns are NOT recovered by the law enforcement that YOU claim can protect us.

Now, do a little research on how many machine guns are used or confiscated each year. Now understand that these are not privately owned. Where did they come from??

The US has been trying to stop drugs from coming into this country for 6 decades. We have not been able to do anything except put a tiny dent in the drug traffic. And drugs are consumables.

How do you think the authorities will prevent guns from being smuggled in???

I do not eat meat.

Gun control is coming.

Hunting will be banned.

I don't care.

I am sure an attempt will be made. But anything more than a minor addition to controls will be defeated.

If you truly believe it will be banned you are demented. All the info you have tried to post does not change the fact that population controls are required. And your contraception idea is so loony that the only other person to ever suggest it was King Raw. Which puts you in very strange company.
