L.A. Mayor's Race

I believe there are some So Cal folks here. This is just unreal to me. Rick Caruso should have won the previous Mayor's race. He is a leader who understands L.A. Instead they chose Bass, the ultimate bureaucrat, and the Palisades burned down in part to horrible leadership.

But the leading choice to replace her is a democratic socialist. And then you have the reality TV guy in Pratt who has done a good job as a protest candidate but he'll never win and he couldn't govern if he did.

I lived in urban areas all my life, but I don't understand this part of it.

It is funny that you even think it matters. Commiefornia was lost a long time ago once the illegals took over the state. It is a lost cause. Electing a Republican to Mayor or Governor is a waste of time. The city council is all democrats so the Mayor can do nothing. And the legislature has a super majority of democrats so the governor can do nothing.

Even if they won (which they won't because of all of the cheating) they would be ineffectual.

I can't think of anything less interesting than who becomes Mayor of Los Angeles. The city died along time ago and it isn't coming back

You certainly don't have to care, nor even respond.

As an American I would argue having our leading cities run well is in all our best interests. And whether one likes California or not, what happens here has a big influence on the rest of the country.

And when it comes to Mayor's, it's not about party labels it's about competency and leadership. Daniel Lurie has shown in SF what leadership can do in one year. Rudy Giuliani showed it in NYC several decades back as did Bloomberg to a certain extent. Karen Bass showed what a lack of leadership looks like.
