New Jersey Democratic Rep. LaMonica McIver appeared virtually before a federal judge in Newark Wednesday morning after being charged with assault, resisting arrest, and impeding federal officers.

McIver was in Washington for the appearance. She was read her rights and released on her own recognizance.

If convicted, faces eight years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

I never wanted it. But you can only push someone so far and so long. The left can tell all the fairy tales it wants but at the end of the day we ALL KNOW they are the ones that have been pushing it for decades. You just might get it too.
 
She is facing 17 years in prison.

Today a federal grand jury seated in Newark, New Jersey returned a three-count indictment charging U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver with forcibly impeding and interfering with federal law enforcement officers. This indictment has a maximum penalty of 8 years for Count One, an additional maximum penalty of 8 years for Count Two, and a maximum penalty of 1 year in prison for Count Three.

As I have stated in the past, it is my Constitutional obligation as the Chief Federal Law Enforcement Officer for New Jersey to ensure that our federal partners are protected when executing their duties. While people are free to express their views for or against particular policies, they must not do so in a manner that endangers law enforcement and the communities those officers serve.

Today’s decision by the grand jury is the next step in a process that my Office will pursue to a just end.

She is charged with interfering with officers making a false arrest. The court already ruled on dismissal of the arrest of the mayor and reprimanded the NJ AGs office for indicting without evidence.



It will be interesting to see how the courts respond to this indictment.


Then when you read the press release for the indictment it raises some questions since it makes allegations that were made in the indictment of the mayor but were not truthful enough to support that indictment resulting in it being dismissed with prejudice.

Congresswoman Charged for Forcibly Impeding and Interfering With Federal Officers

U.S. Representative LaMonica McIver was charged in a three-count indictment today for forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers.

A federal officer then informed the Mayor that he was not authorized to be in the facility’s secured area, and issued the Mayor multiple warnings that he would be arrested if he did not leave. McIver and other members of the Congressional Delegation overheard this conversation and challenged the officer, protesting the Mayor’s removal. When officers moved in to arrest the Mayor, McIver and others surrounded the Mayor and prevented the officers from handcuffing him.

The reason for dropping the indictment of Mayor Baraka is because the "federal officer" that ordered him to leave had no authority to make that ask so there was no basis to charge him with trespassing since no one with authority had asked him to leave and him refusing to do so.
