"Languages are Coming Into Our Country": open

Into the Night

Yet another attempt at censorship. This time by Kewpie. Bringing the thread out for open discussion.

The OP:
We continue to see this nimble mind at work...

Is there any sane or intelligent person anywhere who believes these are 'unknown languages' that 'no in the US speaks or knows'?

Arguably this is not dementia, and could simply be stupidity, but either way Magats brains like Damocles are exploding and you will soon see them cry out about TDS asking why we are focusing on this and not JUST Biden.

Buckle in and enjoy the hypocrisy and show.

This is referring to a video of Trump discussing the "unknown languages" spoken by the vast numbers of illegal immigrants that Biden let in when inviting invasion of the United States.

As is typical of a Democrat like Kewpie, he is taking things out of context in his TDS efforts.

Trump is simply remarking what is the truth: Most people in the United States don't speak Chinese or even Spanish, which these immigrants speak.

America and other English speaking nations have been diminished by the fact that English may very well be the most spoken
"second language" on the face of the earth, at least in highly developed nations.

Thus English speaking people--those who speak English as a first language-- are the least likely to be bi-lingual
and thus the most likely to appear uneducated to others.

I first understood this nearly sixty years ago in college.
Foreign students with a plethora of first languages among them spoke close to perfect English with one another.

At the time, I was still fluent in Sicilian dialect so I didn't feel that stupid.
I should have, however.

I so admire sophisticated, educated people who speak multiple languages.
They're truly citizens of the world.

That's a good thing, Asshat.

Another idiot taking things out of context. Trump is speaking of the United States, not the whole world, idiot.

I don't think bilingual people are uneducated. Actually, I admire them (to a point) I wouldn't mind speaking 2 languages, then I could visit East Jabip.

Being in my chosen career, just about everything uses English measurement (inch). Most older lathes weren't geared to turn metric threads,
CNCs however, are. Point being, I couldn't recommend hiring someone who does not have knowledge of the English form of measurement.

Both English and metric measurements are used in the United States.
We tend to use miles, yards, feet, and inches for measuring length, acres for measuring area, but use volts, amps, ohms, and watts (metric measurements) for electricity. We tend to use Fahrenheit instead of Centigrade for weather since it is a better scale for describing how hot something feels to you. Centigrade is good scale for chemistry and cooking, since it's about boiling water (weather rarely gets hot enough to boil water! :D).

You are quite right. For machine work, you should a working knowledge of English units. Too many things must be made to those dimensions, and accurately.

It's hardly unreasonable to avoid hiring people who don't have the requisite skills for the job offered

[unless you think that they're worth training].

Fair enough. Illegal immigrants have little skills in much of anything, except collecting welfare.
Even in the construction trades (where things use inches and feet), they have to have a translator to get any useful work done for a client. I see a lot of sloppy construction practices from these immigrants as well, and their work often doesn't pass inspection without some serious alterations.

English measurement is far more complicated than metric. Metric is based on 10, 100. Pretty simple in comparison.
So someone who only speaks Spanish (for example) not cannot communicate, they don't know English measurement.

(one might be worth training if they can at least communicate with us monolinguals)

It's something they can learn though, IF they decide to get a job and work at it!

Racism is real.

Trump is an idiot when it comes to certain things … but then we all knew that already. But sadly his diatribe will resonate with his hard core base.

Knowing another language or two is a good thing. I speak a broken Chahta and can usually communicate well enough in Mex to get by, if I can get the other party to speak slowly enough. On top of that I’m fluent in English and can morph that into hillbilly in order to communicate better with the parents/guardians of my students at Parent/Teacher Conferences.

My son is minoring in Japanese with aspirations of picking up another foreign language before completing his Masters degree. He’ll never take the time to learn Chahta and that’s sad to me.

Everyone is an idiot when it comes to certain things. So what else is new?

I used to give him the benefit of the doubt that is simply stupidity but when you consider the DECLINE in his speaking faculty i think it is undeniably some early signs of dementia.

As much as I never liked what Trump would say historically, he was actually quite nimble with words and fluent and a good speaker. I rank him up there with Bill Clinton in terms of being 'slick' with words and i often offer this interview with Barbara Walters, as a demonstration of that.

Unlike Joe Biden who has NEVER been fluent with words or a good speaker (the latter due to his stutter which makes people pause and seem to struggle), and thus contrasting his prior self with his current self shows dramatically less decline as compared to Trump.

And most old people will demonstrate some decline in word dexterity and fluency and ability to communicate as quickly. That is not shocking. Trump and Biden should both be expected to show some degree of that. But ONLY TRUMP, shows such a dramatic decline from his prior self. And only Trump regularly is seen just lost in the moment trying so hard to remember a word like "origins" and the best his mind can give him is "oranges". Biden shows NO SUCH decline like that, which is clearly indicative of dementia.

Oh this again...

You cannot blame Biden's problems on Trump, dummy.

QPeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, derp, derp, derp.
You are complaining about this comment? You are very stupid.
Have you been to a Drivers license station, hospital, or heard then explain to the cops they did not understand that a stop sign ment they were to stop.

Try and be even a little bit smarter.

Nicely put!

Nothing new here as far as having lefties like yourself take something Trump said out of context, somewhat like how biden took Trump's words of addressing a woman in the front row at his rally as being a mistake of not knowing his wife's name. Truly stupid stuff.

But as far as Trump saying we have languages coming in to our country that nobody speaks, he's referring to we having to find teachers who are fluent in Spanish, Mandarin etc. in order to teach these kids in the first place. We've already seen some of these illegal non-English speaking kids getting shoved into school systems across the country and where legal American students are sent home to be handcuffed and zoom their way through another one of these government led policies.

They are so used to taking things out of context, they don't even realize they are doing it anymore. They just parrot what they are told to say.

Like your new avatar by the way!

Trump is our most illiterate president ever.

Any 5th grader would whoop his ass in a Spelling Bee contest!

Another obvious case of avarice.

Trump, a successful real estate developer worth billions, and having become President of the United States on top of all that, is 'illiterate'! We've got one stupid lizard here!

Amazing since trump grew up in NYC where there are hundreds and hundreds of languages spoken daily

It's a well-known cliche that New York City is a melting pot, but we do have the linguistical bonafides to back it up: according to the Department of City Planning, New Yorkers speak over 200 different languages. "Nearly one-half of all New Yorkers speak a language other than English at home, and almost 25%, or 1.8 million persons, are not English Proficient," the city says.

Another one taking things out of context and making shit up.

NYC is not the United States, twit. Most people in the United States do not speak Chinese or even Spanish.

Agree. trump has been a pathological liar his entire life, so he's very smooth when it comes to covering up his obvious mental decline. He just starts spouting nonsense in an attempt to steer the discussion elsewhere

You are just describing yourself again, Sock.
