Lawmakers vote to release former President Trump’s tax returns

Then what makes you think you have a right to see Trump's tax returns?

Since you admitted you don't even have the right to see your own children's

How is that even remotely comparable?

Wow.

Trump was President, and wants to be President again. Of the whole nation. Not sure how to break this to you - but it's not comparable at all to a parent/child relationship.

It is because you don't have the right to see anyone's tax returns not your childrens not your boss not your neighbors no one

Terrible, irrelevant comparison.

Trump was interviewing for a JOB, and is interviewing for a JOB. Americans absolutely have a right to know because of that circumstance.

So, the analogy fails.

Bullshit..... Link to where that's one of the job requirements to be president

Where what is a "job requirement?" Having sound finances? Paying your taxes as you should? Not being obligated to any parties due to investments or other financial ties?

ABSOLUTELY these are things Americans should know when considering someone to hold the highest office in the land. That's why Presidents have done this throughout history.

And guess what? We're about to find out (and are finding out) why Trump pulled out all of the stops to be the only President to keep his tax returns secret.

What was the centerpiece of Trump's campaign? It wasn't his vast political experience. It was being a great businessman, and making a ton of money, and being some kind of business/financial wizard.

Absolutely, Americans should be able to verify that.

His children are not running for president.

We don't have a right to see a candidate's tax returns, but it might help a person decide whether to vote for a candidate. What percent of a the people wanting to see Trump's tax returns will actually look at those documents.

Biden released his returns annually. It is not a precedent, it was a law mandating the IRS audit presidential tax returns. That law had been ignored.

and can you explain how that gives anyone besides the congressional committee responsible for overseeing the IRS access to the tax returns?......

The percentage of people who want to see his tax returns is utterly meaningless, as is the number of people who'll actually look at them.

Unless there is evidence of illegality contained in those tax returns, I can't see a single reason to release them. I don't vote for someone based on their tax returns. That's just stupid. When was the last time you reviewed the tax returns of Presidential candidates? Let me help you out: YOU NEVER HAVE.

You said it yourself: You don't have a right to see them. Base your vote on that. But, unless you review the tax returns of other candidates, all this is is whining...

Do you believe Trump doesn't have a lot of money?

The bottom line here is that you don't have a right to see them. If you want to have that right, then get a law passed which gives you that right.

Otherwise, stop whining...

I'm an employer. I own two companies; one small, one pretty large.

Never once have I ever demanded to see the tax returns of people being interviewed for employment.

Not once.

Never.

I know of no instance, ever, anywhere, in the history of hiring people, where the person being interviewed was told he had to provide his tax returns.

Ergo, your insistence that he was "interviewing for a JOB. Americans have a right to know because of that circumstance" is nonsense...
