We have heard all about the Tiller incident, on every major news network for the past week, every possible angle, numerous special reports, and even an official public statement from the president. The act has been condemned by virtually everyone, (including the pro-life advocates) as the left continues the campaign to try and connect the tragedy to right-wing talk radio.

In contrast, on Monday, one soldier was killed and another wounded as they stood outside an army recruitment office in Little Rock, Arkansas. The assailant, a radical Muslim extremist, who claims he did it because of all the terrible things US soldiers have done to Muslims, and admits he would have killed more soldiers, had they been present at the time. How much news coverage has this incident received? The White House took 3 days to issue so much as a statement regarding this, and still no public comment by the Commander and Chief of these soldiers.

When a "right-wing" nut job kills a late term abortion doctor, we get two weeks of non-stop dramatic coverage from every news outlet, we get the president calling press conferences to express his outrage, and we hear non-stop whining from liberals about how "talk radio is responsible for this!" But when a radical Muslim extremist kills an American soldier on US soil, because he has been enraged by the barrage of non-stop left-wing Gitmo/AbuGrahab torture stories, we hear not a peep!

Could this have anything to do with the current middle east trip? Could it be, the president is afraid to make a statement because he doesn't want to cause a controversy on the brink of this 'historic' speech to the Muslim world? Or is it just that, army recruiters aren't among the "protected class" in this country? Oh, the Feds were swift to send out the US Marshals to protect abortion doctors at clinics around the country, but what is being done to beef up security at our recruitment offices? *crickets chirp*

Yeah, after THREE DAYS we finally get a statement (not a speech) from the White House...

“I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe. I would like to wish Quinton Ezeagwula a speedy recovery, and to offer my condolences and prayers to William Long’s family as they mourn the loss of their son.”

In contrast, this is the statement released on Tiller...


"I am shocked and outraged by the murder of Dr. George Tiller as he attended church services this morning. However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence."

In one instance, he is "shocked and outraged" and in the other, he is merely "saddened." One murder is "senseless" the other is much worse, it is "heinous!" One response took less than 24 hrs to be issued, the other took 3 days, and comes after an enormous public outcry from military families.


Yeah... 'OOPS' about sums it all up, dipwad!

Deeply saddened and shocked and outraged. Those are just two generic adjectives obama's aids pulled out of their ass while they were pretending to care. I wouldn't put much philosophical weight into which meant more, because they both meant the same, 0.

the left hates the military. Each of the liberals here probably chuckled inside and said to themselves that the soldier deserved it for being part of the war machine. Dixie's example is plain as day, but once again the asshole lefties will tell themselves they care that a soldier died, when we all know they don't give a shit. They couldn't care less or we'd have seen thread after thread about it.

Thanks for confirming you completely missed the point of my thread. As of today, a few news sources have done a story on it. This happened Monday! Today is Thursday! This is 2009, not 1809! Why has it taken 3 days, and near-rioting protests to get the news media to cover this and the president to address it? Why is it, we get a tepid and weak response from the liberal media and the liberal administration on this, in the wake of such dramatization with the abortion doctor?

One extremist nut was motivated by right wing talk radio, and the other was motivated by left-wing propaganda about abuse of Muslim prisoners. Both murders were heinous and outrageous, but for some reason, the left only became agitated about the abortion doc... not hardly a peep about the soldier. We get the finger-pointing from the left, at "talk radio" and right wing radicals... but not a mention of liberal propaganda about prisoner abuse, which compelled this Muslim convert to murder a US soldier in Arkansas!

This thread is about the DOUBLE STANDARDS of liberal democrats. It's NOT about whether NBC has reported it, or the white house issued a statement on it. It hasn't gotten that bad... yet... but we are only a few months into the new administration.
 
we need to start killing a lot of christian abortion dr terrorist, we are way behind. We've killed hundreds of thousands of muslim terrrorist and nearly everyone they ever met.

You are truly desperate to pin anything you can on Obama. Yesterday, the date of the reply was Wednesday not Thursday. The Tiller incident happened Sunday AM but in these parts we are hearing more about the Little Rock murder. I'm not even aware who was responsible forTiller's death. When you find a post sympathic with the Little Rock killer, point it out to me.This much I can tell you, to me there's not a dime's worth of difference between the killers in either case. That said I will counter your view with the thought that there are plenty of RW wingnuts out there that don't consider Tiller's death a murder and consider it justified. So, if you want to talk about quantities or hypocrisy in the two crimes, be fair and cover the whole gamut, and try it without the little misleading twists added to your case. Where did the "2 weeks come from?

Dixie brings up two good points, the hypocrisy of the left and the fact that they hate the military.

Fact is, Libs, the military is the only thing that keeps y'all from being stoned to death by radical Islamists. You should all get down on your knees daily and pray to Mother Earth and Solar Man or whoever you worship for our selfless heroes.

A) I would not deny there is hypocrisy among some on the left. Guess what? There is also hypocrisy on the right. Partisans tend to be hypocritical.

B) It's absolutely ludicrous to say it's a fact that the "left hates the military." Liberals serve in the military. I don't know any liberal personally who "hates" the military. I think our military is great, and give the soldiers all the credit in the world for doing what they do.

It is a problem.

Do you also find that whenever you stray more than a mile or so from a military base you're frequently chased by stone throwing sheiks as well? I thought i was the only one.

A) The hypocrisy is much more pronounced on the Left.
B) I'm sure there are the rare Libs who enlisted or who think soldiering is OK, but Liberalism is known for its pacifism. I look at the actions of elected liberal politicians and make my generalizations based on that.

I'm referring to the fact that radical Islam does not tolerate the shit that liberals pull- and would kill them all, starting with the gays.
