Lefty robs liquor store

All we really have to form our perceptions of the political landscape with is propaganda. That's why I read, watch, or listen to every piece of it that I can get my hands on. I love everything from mother Jones and huffpost all the way out to way-far-out righty youtube channels. Lefty fringe all the way to righty fringe, and everything in between. Consume it all, but believe NONE.

I was a Fundamentalist Christian and a bona fide far righty for many years. So yeah I can see their views. That's why I am able to connect to those people and talk to them.

Now you see through the propaganda.

See through what? Since not a single conservative has or will make defences of these actions, that leaves progressives almost exclusively as the culprits who are cheerleading, given there aren't a lot self-identitied socialists, fascists, Marxists, and anarchists out there. Every day you can find multiple editorials alone from progressives running apologies for the rioters and America haters.

Nice post, Chaz. Thank you.

I haven't seen anyone defend the rioters. I have seen a lot of Progressives say that the riots are a result of major problems in policing, which I agree with. I think instead of just writing off the riots, we should realize they're a result of real problems that we need to fix. Now that doesn't excuse the rioting, that doesn't mean rioters shouldn't be jailed. It just means that there is a legit reason for why this is happening.
But because the Right only sees in black and white, they think this means we're defending rioting.

This is basically the same as progressives arguing that "defund" doesn't really mean "defund," despite these editorials being the norm:

This is one person who wants to abolish the police. No mainstream activist and certainly no elected official wants to abolish the police. Biden doesn't even want to defund the police, which just shows you how pathetically centrist the DNC is.

Biden doesn't really get a say anymore. That's why he has even embraced the Green New Deal.

Now, there are Dem members of Congress who support Defund, and when you get down to city councils like Seattle and Minny, it's the dominant view. In the editorial, academic, and activist classes, it is the required view.

Biden recently said he doesn't support defunding the police.

Yes, but defunding isn't the same as abolishing. One op-ed doesn't change that.

I guess the biggest question is how the HECK did the OP know the robber WAS a Lefty? I finally just realized this, and feel like a fool for devoting my time to this thread. I'm DONE with this thread. Thank you.

It's not even a new position for progressives, as this typical response to Ferguson highlights:

This time, the quotes came early and often:

https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/05/this-is-easy-dont-excuse-defend-or-encourage-rioters

Since USA Today has been the biggest cesspool of progressivism in the past week, here's them making the typical illiberal argument in against property, among other idiocies:

Sorry, I constructed thus post earlier, and somehow it never posted.

Even de Blasio's stupidity fails to highlight the fact that there isn't much of a line being made between Defund and abolish. Also, Biden has zero self agency.

Second one is National Review. The third is an Op-Ed. The first one I will look into more later. Need to be sober to read.

He doesn't need to highlight that because we all understand that. Only the Far-Right is saying defund means abolish.
If Biden has no agency, then how come Bernie or the Squad hasn't forced him to say we should defund the police?
