What police were defunded? You should also understand what defund means is to put money in social workers and shrinks to deal with the unhinged or sick that police are unequipped to deal with. It would take some situations out of police hands allowing them to spend their budgets on policing.

I doubt the US military would even consider setting up a military dictatorship. The enlisted soldiers mostly only stay in the military for a short time, and the commissioned soldiers are to the left of what you think they are at.

Yea. The country’s military bases are far too spread out. However, if someone could figure out how, it won’t be a politician it will be a hardened combat leader.

There are at least one National Guard post in every Congressional district. The military could assert a fair amount of power.

But the military is made up of normal citizens, and they are not going to oppress the people.... Or more accurately, they are unlikely to do more than the people to oppress the people.

Modern totalitarian states use the people to oppress themselves. trump would need to convince a lot more of the people to support him before he could do that.
