Less Republicans believe in Evolution today than in 2009

1) Abortion: ends a unique human life... Science is on my side
2) Evolution: Man evolved from apes... Science is on my side
3) AGW: The argument is not over with regards to mans effect on the climate, the fear mongers have exaggerated the effect of man with data that does not support them... science is on my side

So tell us String, you fucking pathetic coward... where is it that you claim I disagree with science?

Bullshit. I was not playing a game of gotcha. It has been argued that humans were properly classed as apes for several decades. I did not know you were educated with nova back in the days when Bryan argued that humans were not mammals.

Lol! Burn!

Named iirc after the song Lucy in the sky with diamonds.

You're right!

"In the afternoon, everyone on the expedition returned to the gully, sectioning off the site and preparing for careful collection, which eventually took three weeks. That first evening they celebrated at the camp. At some stage during the evening, they nicknamed the fossil AL 288-1 as Lucy, after the Beatles' song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", which was being played loudly and repeatedly on a tape recorder in the camp.[3]

No, you have not. You have given the OPINION of a person and proclaimed it to be fact. It is not. No matter how much you want it to be, it will be opinion.

Please define absence of belief for us...

Stupid, when we are discussing what atheists believe the beliefs of a prominent atheist is a material fact. All you have is a bad, incomplete and circular semantic argument. You have been proven wrong.

I think ignoring god's creation is a mistake. That part of what we are and what we are here for is to learn the "how"... In your book we ate from the tree of knowledge, the only thing that then made us different from your god is directly stated by your god, we don't live forever... god took that tree away so that mankind would not "Be like us"...

We have the capacity to understand and to do... If I believed in your book this would drive me to science in a way that couldn't be stopped... It's his first command to name all the "animals"... How many still exist on other planets that remain unnamed? We have billions of years of work ahead of us. Get to it, it's far more satisfying than rejecting knowledge.

/grins....and yet, it is only your assumption that I am rejecting knowledge instead of rejecting conjecture......

Absence of belief is the lack of acceptance that something is true or exists. Pretty much the same as disbelief.

If there is a difference then it again goes to the point that agnostics are sort of non committal, conciliatory or cowards.

A new Pew Poll shows that only 43% of Republicans believe humans evolved as compared to 54% in 2009. Lack of education and religiosity tend to be the major reasons why.

The GOP...going backwards since 1980!

Fewer.

1) Pretending a life isn't a life so that they can justify killing it... hence they too dismiss science when the science goes against their ideology

Pretty sure it's alive and a full human being, I just don't give a damn, and enjoy murder.

2) Pretending MAN is the primary cause for climate change, while also pretending those with opposing views are somehow claiming that the climate doesn't change. In other words... they lie through their teeth to further their religious beliefs in man made global warming.

Yes, your right, if we just ignore the overwhelming scientific consensus and evidence in support of the fact that humans beings have caused climate change on the planet, my position is pretty absurd.

???....if one denies creation and doesn't believe humans evolved from single celled creatures, WHERE do they think humans came from?........

Higga Digga Embowelee should feel free to answer as well, as he seemed to think my question was laughable.......

I believe humans evolved from double-celled creatures. Like a double-celled battery - lasts twice as long, for all your computing needs.

Lol...he is a world famous scientist and your stuck debating basic biology with a couple of dudes from Ohio on a crappy Wednesday night. There could be no greater irony here.
I wouldn't call a discussion of evolution with PiMP a "debate in basic biology". It's more like a circular argument that goes no where.

LMAO... no... it is not. Absence of belief is when you neither believe NOR disbelieve. They are not the same thing.

If there is a difference then it again goes to the point that agnostics are sort of non committal, conciliatory or cowards.

The above is precisely how an extreme fundamentalist views the world. If you don't have evidence of something being 'A' or 'B', then you MUST CHOOSE ONE or you are a coward!!!

ROFLMAO... or back in the real world, it means some people are more logical than others. They wait for evidence before coming to a conclusion/taking a position.

Well, you are in Mississippi, so I can understand how you have come to feel so depressed.

Yes, your right, if we just ignore the overwhelming scientific consensus and evidence in support of the fact that humans beings have caused climate change on the planet, my position is pretty absurd.

1) Don't turn into Desh... you know the difference between your and you're
2) A real scientist does not run around shouting CONSENSUS! How many times in our past has the 'CONSENSUS' been wrong? But if you wish to share this evidence, despite the fact that the fear mongers models have been incorrect, that the warming of the planet has not increased in over 15 years, that CO2 levels at the same time have escalated... by all means... share your evidence.

There is little evidence that humans have caused the majority of climate change. The data does not support your position.
