It feel like we're just going through the motions with these debates.

Romney is going to experience the biggest trouncing in decades and it doesn't matter if we hold the elections tomorrow or in six weeks.

Every ad, every campaign stop, stump speech, debate and pundit pontification -- none of them will change a goddamn thing. Obama will serve a second term.

SO... Let's just get this over with and make congress get back to work. They've been draggin' ass not doing their job and it's time the American People call them out on it.

Agree and let's take the dark money stolen from taxpayers by loop hole's and used against us and put it toward the debt. While we're at it let's look at changing churches that use the pulpit to politicize their 'flock' from tax exempt to taxed and put that money toward the debt.

Romney says teacher's unions should not be allowed to make political contributions...

Let's take all the money wasted lobbying government for special favors and new laws meant to favor this class and that class, this business or that business, this special interest or that special interest. FDR sucks!

Leave the churches and other non profits regulated through the charity navigator to take care of our social ills.

When I was civil service any politics was out of the question. When did that change and how...when the GOP pushed through right to work laws?

Read Mencken for a lesson on the progressive movement. The history books are corrupted. He was wrong a couple times, but mostly right on point and funny.

This is not an answer.

It was not meant to be. It was a general statement concerning the thread.

Your question, as far as I can tell, is a ridiculous fiction. Many civil servants do politics and engage in political debate (how many of the left here are civil servants) while on the job even though they have these useless rules against it.

Teachers, police, firefighters and other civil service unions have formidable political machines. They hold too much power over elected officials and therefore the people they are meant to serve. They are a special interest that suppresses the will of the people.

We use to understand the dangers of the civil servants engagement in the political process and guard against it carefully in the political debate. However, progressives successfully created this statist religion and cast civil servant as sacred ascetics that have/serve no self interest.

Many are starting to wake up to how ridiculous that is and has always been thanks largely to the incompetence of many teachers and the pervasiveness of police brutality. Minorities know it best and it creates a lot of tension in the Democratic Party. Also, the Republicans have been successfully driving a wedge through the unions pitting the teachers on one side and FD/PD on the other.

The power of teachers and other civil service unions to oppose reforms of their services needs to checked. It would be better for them if they regulated themselves and allowed the bad teachers/officers/servants to be fired.

Teachers are in a very precarious position. Their intransigence will be their downfall. The number of teachers needed will decline greatly soon and it will become cheaper/easier to replace them with technological solutions. The writing is on the wall and it will be torn down.

It was important and written down and passed around and expected to be signed. I'm not lying so I'm not going to bother with the rest of your response. We were not allowed to do politics, it was forbidden. We worked for everyone not that there weren't those that had opinions but real politicking would get you fired. It was bad enough that every time a new administration came in all the heads and their support staff would cycle out and the new come in. You're welcome to call me a liar but you're an idiot if you do...so be it.

I did not say you were lying. I said it was a ridiculous fiction. The civil servant's unions have been doing politics. Yes, I understand you have these useless regulations, but they don't actually stop the influence peddling.

if it doesn't make a difference why are you so anxious to have the election before the poll numbers change?.......
