I wouldn't want to live in the place if the landlord was so outspoken in his political beliefs. During the 2008 election I saw some anti-Obama signs that just skirted decency, and would have to force myself to call the FD if the owner's house was on fire. As far as wanting to live there, forget it.

Upon first read, I would have sided with the landlord. If I owned rental property I wouldn't want to rent it to couples shacking up, gays, drinkers, druggies, or even smokers (pot or otherwise), etc. I would hope that would be my right since it is MY property that I am renting. I still want to side with the landlord.....BUT, if it is indeed true that a previous ruling said that a similar discrimination was unlawful in that state, then I will root for the soldier to be successful in his suit.
That said, if I as a landlord was forced to allow someone I didn't want to move in to my property I would take it off the rental market.

And let's not forget...the woman NEVER REFUSED to rent to the Soldier, she merely pointed out her own extreme anti-war beliefs and how it might make him uncomfortable.
Of course that translates to "she refused to rent to a soldier" to straight talk conservatives.

If you can't, well then that would be because USF MISREPRESENTED the facts.
