This comparison isn't saying that Trump will end up executing millions of people, it is only showing the ways Hitler controlled the people, the press and the lead up to his dictatorship. Trump has used some of these in his rise to the nomination.

You are ignoring two major factors. You seem to do this. I ask a question you ignore it. I make a point, you ignore it. That is fine, but don't pretend you're right if you're going to ignore points that don't suit you.

Virtually any politician wants or has mentioned that. Remember Obama's "war" on Foxnews? Come on Rana, you are smarter than this.

I explained to you that it isn't a point by point exact comparison, there are just certain elements of fascism that he uses, he even quotes Mussolini, it is a valid that we pay attention for the people of Italy and Germany ignored it and they ended up with Mussolini and Hitler.

I am not ignoring the two major factors, you are just ignoring how Trump can be labeled a fascist.
 
People interpret the Hitler comparison as too literal.

They're not exactly the same - but Trump's rise & appeal is very similar. They are both consummate demagogues. They both appeal to hate & fear. They both achieve their greatest success when they pit groups against each other. Both are bigots. Both are narcissists.

I think the comparison is valid, personally.

You're admitting there really is not correlation between Trump and Hitler, except for a few things. Again, that could be said of plenty of politicians.

Let us just say, Trump is 9 out of 10 like Hitler, okay. Doesn't mean he is Hitler and any comparisons are false. What Hitler DID is nothing compared to what Trump has TALKED about.

I am so sick of this comparing Bush, Obama, Trump to Hitler. It is weak.

It is not even close. Our country is in no way any similar to Germany back then.

So, the only valid comparison of any leader to Hitler is when their country is exactly like Germany?

That's simplistic thinking. The comparison can be valid even if the countries are different.

He apparently is an all or nothing guy, he doesn't see the similarities. It is most unfortunate, that is how dictators happen, people don't see the warning signs, they think it can't happen.

To me, the comparisons are obvious.

It's dangerous to ignore history. Trump has the same appeal that Hitler had - same mindset. And you're right: no one thinks that can really happen again. It can if we let it.
