Liberals Versus Ronald McDonald

Actually, its called "freedom" and "choice". Lib-Tards can have the "freedom" to "choose" to live in MA or CA, conservatives can live in UT or TX.

I called you a socialist. You seem hurt by that. I apologise.

Its just that you keep saying these socialist things. I believe that essential services can't be trusted to the markets. On here that makes me socialist.

But even I wouldn't interfere with an absolute luxury market like the publican trade.

And then you say in the same paragraph that "I have no problem with any State in the United States doing anything that they want, even to the point of rabid socialism"

Now, that is bizarre. I would swear that smacks of socialism. I should know. On here I am one....

No its not.

I've been breathing air for 35 years now. You might just say I'm hooked. And its not poisoning me.

Try again Southern. How exactly have we not found a massive contradiction in your whole argument.
Air is a mixture of several compounds. Any one of them in high enough concentration will kill you.

Try again. Lib-Tard.

Sorry, I thought you said that:

Everything's toxic given a high enough concentration.

Guess everything but air.

But we aren't talking about random events, such as pure oxygen being intaken. We are talking about you pumping out cancer inducing carcinogens everytime you drive through a concentrated area.

You started this, by moaning about my cigarette / spliff. And trying to use socialism to infringe my liberty. This is a much clearer case of infringement of liberty than any vague notions of healthcare doing so.

Why do you hate America so much... :)

Again, air is a mixture of several compounds. Put enough concentration of cig smoke or car exhaust into it and you'll have plenty of toxicity.

Just taking what you wrote literally. Maybe we should have a figurative emoticon.

Put enough concentration of cig smoke or car exhaust into it and you'll have plenty of toxicity.

You made my point in a sentence. I am in awe!

Put enough cigarette smoke, or car exhausts, in a confined area, you have toxicity. So why is your stance one way on cigarettes and another on exhausts? Why is it bad to smoke in a bar, but ok to drive through a city?

That doesn't even start with the contradiction between you claiming not to be socialist but advocating socialist methods to get your own way.

You are clearly dim on the basic concept of dosage. I wouldn't idle a car in a confined area so why should I inhabit a confined space and breathe cig-smoke? LA is fine to drive through now that we have CNG buses, clean diesel trucks and low emission cars.

I wouldn't idle a car in a confined area

Well, you don't have to simply idle. You could drive through. Enough of you filthy drivers club together drive through it has an accumulative effect, like smokers in a pub.

So, should we ban driving in built up areas?

Driving is a necessity. We have instead banned excessive emission rates from cars, thus reducing concentrations of pollutants and therefore reducing the dosage to a more acceptable level.

Back when my grandfather was a child in Nova Scotia he could tell if a car had driven down the road past his family's farm, simply by the smell of the air.

Back when I was a kid a trip to New York required a shower as soon as you got home to clean off the filth from the sooty air.

When I worked in Boston amongst smokers I'd have to leave my sweaters out on the screened porch to keep the air in the house from stinking.

Again, its all about concentrations and dosages.

Restaurants serve food that tastes good so you'll go back again or recommend to a friend. It doesn't matter if its McD's or your local Italian place. These places were never intended to be substitutes for your own kitchen and your own judgment.

Some restaurants make the sale based on a healthier menu. That's primarily why I eat at Subway.

My fave is their Veggie Delite.

I'm tolerant as all hell: you can join into their butt-fest.

And I don't live in South Carolina, sissy boy. :pke:
Nice avatar SM, I would post your wife's picture but the only one I have shows the front of my thigh and the back of her head. Just below my belly button.

So you are now back pedalling by saying people can move to another state?

Its called "freedom" and "choice"? WTF? You argue that the gov't should take away a business owner's freedom to run his business the way he wants, and you want the gov't to enforce your choice, to the exclusion of everyone elses.

lmao

I'm still pissed that WA state voted by initiative to ban smoking in 2006. A number of states have done this, including Kentucky. I'd hoped that the initiative would cause a serious rage among the smoking populous, especially liberal smokers. But the only liberal smoker who did rant was Seattle talk-show guy Ken Schram, and his fellow liberals don't respect him, so his voice was meaningless...
