Libertarians, let's talk SCOTUS noms!

the democrats and the republicans have the same goals in mind. The republicans are just smarter about it by going slower. the fact that you're stupid enough to believe they are for freedom and the constitution is totally negated by your approval of the same policies that bush implemented, obama strengthened, and romnei will continue.

Sorry, I just don't see Romney appointing SCOTUS justices like Kagen and Sotomayor.

I think someone is trying to scurry away from the issues raised in the thread concerning Alabama's Consitution.

There's not any issue being raised in that thread, I've schooled your ass up one side and down the other, and you fuckwits want to keep running back to an error I corrected myself on, and ignore your schooling. Go ahead and pat each other on the backs and pretend you've somehow "bested" me, you simply haven't and that's all there is to it.

Which post did you correct your "error" in?

Or like that guy Roberts. The one that upheld Obamacare. Obama sure was right on when he appointed Roberts.

Well if Roberts were Kagan or Sotomayor, we'd have Constitutionally-mandated whatever the fuck they please! Which is what we'll have if Obama gets a couple more liberal extremists on the court. Beeeeetter think about this?

LOL.

Maybe we'd even have a health-care mandate like they do in Massachusetts...talk about Socialism!

The law mandates that nearly every resident obtain a state-government-regulated minimum level of healthcare insurance coverage...

Remember when Ditzy supported the appointment of Bush's secretary to the Supreme Court? lol
He spent those few days trying to convince us it was anything but a horrible choice. Even Fox bailed on that one but Ditzy stuck by his man.

Romney does not care about the Constitution. He's a right wing technocrat. I seriously doubt he is going to appoint any libertarians.

I am very hopeful that Scalia will be replaced soon. He is a horrible judge and person.

Scala is young by justice standards.

We already have that with Obamacare, the court ruled on it. They called it a tax though, which means when it's fully implemented in 2014 (should Obama win) we will have the largest tax increase on any citizenry of any country, in the history of the world. Another Kagen or Sotomayor on the court, and we wouldn't have had to call it a tax, it would have been a constitutional mandate for being an American citizen, and the government would have had unfettered power to mandate whatever they pleased at any time. As it stands, they still can do that, they just have to call it a tax.

No, they don't have to call it a tax. They did not have to call ObamaCare a tax. Thanks to Bush and Roberts, the courts will just consider it a tax.

Yeah, but he is so fat I don't think he will last as long as the average justice. Every picture of him, he is always sweaty and looks like he is having trouble breathing. I bet he is a mouth breather. lol

No, Justice Roberts ruled the ONLY way it could be constitutional, was as a tax. So, yes... we do have to call it a tax, and we WILL call it a tax. Or at least, honest people will... you can continue to LIE YOUR ASS OFF, since it's what you seem to do best these days.

You are an idiot. The ruling just says that the court views it as a tax. There is no requirement that anyone refer to it in a specific way.

I will call it an unconstitutional mandate that we buy a good from a private company.

Here's the bottom line Libertarians, you guys make sure Obama wins this election, and you can hang your Libertarian ideology up for good, you're done. For the next 50-70 years, this country will be a European-style Social Democracy, and we'll just have to live with that. So maybe, possibly, your great grandkids will have a shot at establishing a more libertarian society, but your days of glory will be finished. Don't believe me? Think I am trying to scare you? Look at how old the judges are, and think about the kind of judges Obama will replace them with. Will a court full of Kagen's and Sotomayor's be hospitable to individual libertarian freedoms and values? I'm guessing they won't, and the only place Libertarianism will be mentioned is in the history books.... IF the Liberals allow it.
