The residents are telling the truth. There was no pet eating. The woman who started the story found her cat within 2 days. The Haitians are a boon to the economy.

I lived in Europe and in some small pueblos, songbirds were eaten...tapas.

In Haiti, one of the poorest places in this hemisphere and where voodoo is still practiced, I have no doubt that dogs and cats are eaten. The Haitians sent here have probably eaten them too.

The important part of this story is that a small American community has been inundated with people from another country and they are overwhelming social services, schools, and hospitals.
