Lt. Col. Lakin Court Martial

Well, here's an idea for the birther-curious.

Write and call Boehner and mcconnell after January 20, and ask them to initiate a lawsuit for Obama to produce the so-called real document.

See how far you get.
Here's a better idea. Write your Secretary of State who actually has the onus of only allowing those who are qualified for the office onto your ballot.

People constantly and mistakenly believe that because it is a Federal position that the election is a Federal election. It isn't. It is 51 separate elections each with their own Secretary of State whose job it is to ensure eligibility before setting candidates on the ballot. Too often people give them a pass, they assume that the parties themselves check for eligibility, etc. It isn't their job. The people whose job it was to check were MIA during the last election and nobody seems to be holding their feet to the fire. It's like civics classes never existed...

Arizona passed a law that actually requires them to do the job they were hired to do, and in this case will require a full birth certificate to get on their ballot. It will be interesting to see what happens.

what do ya'll think is an appropriate sentence.
Damo is hillarious here. A fuckign military guy disobeying an order based on him disputing his boss's boss's boss authority to give it. Bhahaha

5 yrs hard labor
42 months is the most he can get. Since he pleaded guilty to some of the charges sentencing guidelines are shortened even for that time. My guess is he'll get 12 to 18 months in Leavenworth.

However, defense legally is allowed discovery if it is salient to their defense. In this case he was denied, the proofers will say spuriously, the defenders, those I think of as "believers" will say it is only right.

Me I think anybody who so desperately wants to hide such a simple thing has a reason to hide it. While I think he was born in Hawaii and it will make no difference to his citizenship or eligibility, there is something there he doesn't want you to see.

What would that be, exactly that he didn't want you to see on his certificate? That he is black, that his father was black, that his mother was white, that he was not born on the date he said he was? What exact information on that certificate could he hide? I don't get it and what of his mother being a USA citizen? Why doesn't anyone address that issue? They all skip around it, including yourself!

Maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with who is listed as the father on the original.
Maybe, however I just can't see how it would be "damaging" to him if such were the case. Yeah, it would put to lie the immaculance (made it up, I like it, I'm hoping it gets Topper all excited and he'll spout off more inanity) of his Nativity Story in his books, but those have largely been found totally fictional anyway. I mean, the idea that he stayed in Hawaii until his father left is absolutely ridiculous. He and his mother were in Washington state where she was in college, she returned after he left to file for an apparently unnecessary divorce. It isn't even hard to check those records...

Obama really is an American Dream story. He's dealt with many of the things current X'ers deal with. Divorce, absent father, remarriage, another divorce. His story really doesn't need the apparent embellishment given in his books and would be an excellent American Dream story if the embellishments weren't in the way. Unfortunately when you find out portions that are untrue it takes away from the story itself...

I haven't any idea. However, I do believe people do things for a reason, ones that common humanity gives us an ability to relate to and often determine motivation behind those actions.

There are several things on a full birth certificate he can hide. Marital status of parents, an absent "fathers name" portion, a different name as the father than expected, address information that may differ from the nativity story given in his "official" history in his books...

I'm not sure what he is hiding, but his actions seem to be of somebody who wants to avoid something embarrassing on that certificate.

18 months would work for me
If his sentence is longer than 12 months he also gets an automatic appeal. Appeals in this case are three steps... Two in military courts (only one automatic, and then only automatic if the sentence is longer than 12 months), the last step for appeal is the SCOTUS who rarely accepts such an appeal.

Throwing his life away, thinking he is making some kind of statement and by next week, most will have forgotten all about him, but he has sacrificed his family for what? I agree with whomever stated he should have a mental evaluation!

I think that, unless the court is smart enough to give a shorter sentence, we'll keep getting a repeat of this story in the news due to repeals. True Birthers or Proofers will hail him as a "political prisoner" and a hero.

IMO, he could have actually ended this particular idiocy by having the courts determine the validity of his citizenship and convicting him regardless of the direction of his defense. It would have pretty much put to end all speculation on the lines of the birth certificate in one fell swoop, and would allow for the court to determine whether to release the documents to public view. He gets a public trial, but things such as personal privacy can be taken into account especially in a military court rather than a civilian court. They could have had an actual court decision that would have ended most of the objections of insane "birthers" and still likely be allowed to keep his records private at the same time.

But then I do want to believe most people are reasonable, even the proofers and birthers...

Me thinks you've been touched by the paranoid fairy.

Me thinks you've been touched by the paranoid fairy.
While that may be true, it isn't "paranoid" to point to actions and wonder about motivation for the action. I do distrust government as a general rule and that can be attributed to the "fairy" if you want. But actions of a person aren't "government" and I just tell you what I think. I don't know what he wants to hide, but when the thing is so simple like this?

I think it's pretty extraordinary that you find nothing wrong with asking the first black president to produce something that no white president in modern history has been required to produce in order to prove that he belongs in the Oval Office.

Wow...both Yurt AND Damo are birthers?

How many birthers do we have on this board, anyway? I thought this was a cool place to post...

you're such a liar...

In an attempt to prove his argument, the 49-year-old computer programmer filed a subpoena last month seeking McCain's birth certificate.

when mccain was running for office, he had the same problem obama did....it boggles the mind how the left acts as if it was only obama

good fucking lord

i knew you wouldn't answer my question despite the fact i answered yours

typical, you demand links and answers to your questions, but you refuse to do such yourself

hypocrite

I've actually never "asked" him to produce anything.

I do find it interesting that he is the first to have such questions and be unwilling to simply shut them down, however he is certainly not the first to be asked for this particular document. Shoot, let's just take the guy that ran against The Obama.

One person who disagrees with that premise is New Hampshire resident Fred Hollander, who has filed a suit in U.S. District Court claiming that the Republican candidate is "not a natural born citizen." In an attempt to prove his argument, the 49-year-old computer programmer filed a subpoena last month seeking McCain's birth certificate.

McCain is not nor has ever been (nor ever will be) president. Read my post again Yurt and use those parsing skills of yours to figure out your error.

What was your question?

I saw your apologist reply for the birthers, as only a birther could offer. As though they're only concerned about the Constitution...hilarious! As ridiculous as your claim above that McCain "had the same" problem as Obama....
