The request to show legal proof of eligibility? Is that so far out of bounds.

Why do support this foreigner controlled regime?
 
I kind of feel sorry for the guy. Someone who will face no penalty whatsoever as a result of this guy's actions is giving him terrible advice.

An 18 year veteran with an MD, I think he's fully qualified to make his own decisions. Last two times somebody did this they simply rescinded the orders. He's gone one step further, he's refusing all orders.

Maybe he is fully informed of the risks associated with his actions. I don't know. It seems to me that anyone who is advising this guy ought to be advising him to pursue a different course of action than the one he has chosen.

Then again, the possibility of Leavenworth may be preferable to definitely going to Afghanistan.
