Lying Neocons revising history

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/42880435/ns/today-today_news/

The above is for Taichi.... as I stated, it IS the argument being tossed around. As I stated, I do not know enough about it personally to have an opinion on the matter.

But I am sure Taichi will once again forgo actually reading what I write and instead will post us to some left wing nut site with quotes from people who have a differing opinion. One day he may become intelligent enough to understand that when there is a disagreement in opinions that there will indeed be people on BOTH sides of the argument that have 'quotes' to post.

Another willfully ignorant neocon dumbass who doesn't READ the information presented before blathering away.

Bravo is typical of what the neocon pundity is spewing on the airwaves.....he just can't stand that Obama succeeded as Commander in Chief where the Shrub failed....so Bravo just rants and raves all types of BS that has NOTHING to do with the FACTS as they are unfolding....Bravo makes all types of accusations that has NOTHING to do with the facts that are being presented.

Hey Bravo, don't get pissed at me because Peter King is an asshole and even that bigger POS Rumsfeld states that's he's wrong....go bitch at them. ;)

What do you expect Taich, these are the same people who believe the world economy crashed because of a gay Congressman and selling homes to black people.

What do you expect Taich, these are the same people who believe the world economy crashed because of a gay Congressman and selling homes to black people.

Yet another example of a moron from the left who projects his own racism and bigotry onto others. Frank's comments about the health of Fannie and Freddie have NOTHING to do with his being gay. Nothing. The actions taken by both parties to 'encourage' lending to low income neighborhoods has NOTHING to do with race. Only a racist would insinuate that poor=black.

Which brings up the argument being tossed around right now. The 'harsh' techniques are not designed to get the actual information, but rather are designed to break down the individual to the point where they are willing to cooperate under normal interrogation methods. To be clear, I do not know enough about the effectiveness etc... to have a defined position on this. Just relaying what the argument is that I have heard.

Here is an expert, he is the man who headed the team of interrogators who successfully hunted down Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq and the mastermind of the campaign of suicide bombings that had helped plunge Iraq into civil war.

A) Torture doesn't work

"Torture is extremely ineffective, and it's counterproductive to what we're trying to accomplish," he told reporters. "When we torture somebody, it hardens their resolve," Alexander explained. "The information that you get is unreliable ... And even if you do get reliable information, you're able to stop a terrorist attack, Al-Qaeda's then going to use the fact that we torture people to recruit new members." Alexander says torture techniques used in Iraq consistently failed to produce actionable intelligence and that methods outlined in the US Army Field Manual, which rest on confidence building, consistently worked and gave the interrogators access to critical information.

B) Torture and abuse cost American lives.

I learned in Iraq that the No. 1 reason foreign fighters flocked there to fight were the abuses carried out at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo. Our policy of torture was directly and swiftly recruiting fighters for al-Qaeda in Iraq. The large majority of suicide bombings in Iraq are still carried out by these foreigners. They are also involved in most of the attacks on U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq. It's no exaggeration to say that at least half of our losses and casualties in that country have come at the hands of foreigners who joined the fray because of our program of detainee abuse. The number of U.S. soldiers who have died because of our torture policy will never be definitively known, but it is fair to say that it is close to the number of lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. How anyone can say that torture keeps Americans safe is beyond me -- unless you don't count American soldiers as Americans.

And here we have it. Inside the mind of a torture apologist.

Screw the fact that our country is supposed to be better than this.
This isn't about USING or not using torture at all....its about , DOES IT WORK....and there is no doubt about that fact, it works....

If you don't understand the fuckin' post, don't comment on it....you and TC must be taking the same stupid pills.....
you are both truely lacking in reading comprehension.....it makes it just about impossible the have a meaningful dialog with either of you.....

Posters are starting to READ the claims being made and then the unresponsive response commonly given by TC pinhead that never address the specific issue in contention but beats around the bush with same childish rants like a deranged parrot.....
you're starting to do the same thing....

This is what you said. Why should I believe you, a torture apologist, instead of medical and psychological experts who say the opposite?

"...given enough time, torture works...every time, sooner or later....the questions become more important than the answers to gathering the right intell.... "

People may break under torture but that doesn't mean they're giving you the info you're really looking for, just that they want to stop the pain.

Bravo feverishly avoids the FACT that the contradiction is that King is asserting that waterboarding works because it gave us the intel to get Bin Laden. Rumsfeld, the man in the know at the time, says NO, that did not happen.

I'll pwn you one last time just for laughs....just to leave no doubt that I'm right and you're an asshole....

The facts are simple enough even for you TC ....

King was talking about OVERSEAS interrogation.....

Rummy was talking about GITMO DOD interrogation......

ergo, their statements could not possibly contradict each other because they weren't talking about the same events.....

I'll bet this is simple enough even for Christie, rana, and Onecell to understand....

This is what you said. Why should I believe you, a torture apologist, instead of medical and psychological experts who say the opposite?

Kinda like the "experts" that were pushing man made global warming down our throats....some of those "experts" were proven liars, and wrong....

People may break under torture but that doesn't mean they're giving you the info you're really looking for, just that they want to stop the pain.

The intell may or may not be the info you're looking for....I never said it always would be (reading comp. again)....but the info you do get will eventually be the truth, assuming a smart interrogator....whether its useful intell or not is another matter

Nothing. The actions taken by both parties to 'encourage' lending to low income neighborhoods has NOTHING to do with race. Only a racist would insinuate that poor=black.

And lending to poor neighborhoods had nothing to do with the crash of our economy. But those facts are not convenient for a bunch of faux news brainwashed right wing simps.

Nice try Bravo. Circle talk much?
You'll have to explain yourself.....

This was my original contention...

.you know why liars get caught don't you....its because they can't keep the lies straight.....truth is always the same, lies tend to change day to day, week to week, month to month....
the interrogators aren't stupid, like topspin...they listen for lies, for how consistent your answers are over time...and the "harsh treatment" is adjusted accordingly...do I need to spell it out in clearer terms....
EVERYONE breaks...EVERYONE....no one is immune to torture....given enough time, torture works...every time, sooner or later....the questions become more important than the answers to gathering the right intell....

Explain what you mean by "circle talk"

Once again, our Super Freak-ing Dunce babbles on as if his supposition and conjecture covers his willful ignorance and intellectual cowardice. Truth his, this Super Freaking Dunce did NOT read the source material I provided, because like all good little neocon parrots, he just read the source name and turned a blind eye will squawking the neocon mantras, as we see him do here.

Had the SF fool actually read what I put forth, and the coupled it with the link he provided, he would see how Panetta is playing word games to cover his ass as to using torture. The official time line as given by the people who were there and testified, showed that KSM was tortured numerous times and was telling NOTHING....but nearly a YEAR later was subjected to standard interrogation techniques and gave up the lead to the bin Laden courier. The other tortured gained information DID not give that couriers name.....as to whether there was other useful information given is pretty much taken on faith from the CIA.

Once again, the Super Freak-ing intellectually dishonest clown tries to bend reality. No one "encourcaged" anyone, bunky....the LAW simply stated that the lending to low income white folks had to be equally done for black, hispanic and asian folks. The banks just decided to run a scam to fill their pockets and create a smoke screen tainted with buzz words and innuendos certain to have dopes like the Super Freak take them at their word.

But what else should be expected from people desperately trying to prop up the Shrub's bogus legacy regarding Bin Laden DESPITE documented facts to the contrary.

As I previously stated, folks, Bravo is a stupid man. Bravo keeps trying to split a hair and then claim two different roots. But no matter how many times Bravo squawks his line, the bottom line is the same. King states/asserts/ alludes to that waterboarding was instrumental in leading to Bin Laden. Rumsfeld said NO, it did not. And I presented a series of documented quotes and time lines that back up Rumsfeld ( Post #30 and 34).

Now why on God's green Earth would Peter King start blabbing about proof of torture working in Bin Laden's case if that's not what he meant? And why would Rumsfeld respond to him if Rummy is talking about something else? Both are commenting on the recent taking out of Bin Laden, correct? Whether overseas or land based, King is saying "torture" worked to get Bin Laden. Rummy is saying no, it didn't. King CANNOT claim his sources, and Rumsfeld was supposedly the man that the CIA briefed.....but I can claim my sources. Clearly, Bravo's ability to comprehend what he reads and hears is impaired by his desperate need to defend the Shrub's legacy. But as the chronology of the posts shows Bravo, like Peter King, is just another neocon buffoon.
