Like me growing up she didn't know any better but to vote the family tradition. But now she's a strong conservative.

Conservative women changed a lot in my lifetime. Used to be I never saw a conservative woman with a tattoo, now it's hard to find one without one. May be I'm too old-fashioned but I don't like seeing a woman mark up her body.

Mine is very much against tattoos. She thinks what women are doing to their bodies is truly pitiful.

America is the land of the free. Women don't have to be enslaved by their husbands. That said, I have no doubt that MAGAt males seek out weak, dependent women to groom just like Charlie Manson did with his "family".

In fairness, I will say this.
I don't understand how people with different political ideology ever get married in the first place.
For me, politics are far too important to be overshadowed by other attractions.
That being said, you don't tell the Gestapo what to do and vice versa.

Politics used to be about a general belief in one of the two:

Govt. should spend less money on social safety nets and reduce taxes. Taxes are bad, and if nobody paid them we would have a much better society.

OR

Govt. is necessary to fund the things that don't turn a profit. Govt. is necessary because corporations cannot be trusted to care about the environment when it comes to profits. Even though there is terrible waste and fraud in govt. funded safety nets, they are still necessary.


Today, politics has become a win or die game. Gingrich started it under Clinton as a way to get Republicans elected. Reps. do NOT represent the majority opinion in the nation, so flinging shit and making politics a circus is the only way to disrupt the process.

Add to that the obstructionism that is part of Gingrich's plan. Don't allow the opposition to accomplish anything, and then use that as a political platform.

Most recently we see it at the border.

As such...you are correct. People with opposing political views might struggle in a relationship unless they simply refuse to watch the news together, and refuse to discuss politics.

I've always wondered how Carville and his wife Mary Matalin stay married for so many years?
 
When Harris wins, there will be a huge amount of right wing domestic violence against women in revenge.

I know a liberal woman who agreed to marry a MAGA man, and he drove her so crazy with his Trump worship that she ordered him to only listen to FOX in house with headphones on, and to never speak to her about politics.
