so of what benefit is it to the hospital does the hospital fire employees that smoke also? Do they fire fat employees?

the increased risk of other hospital workers getting covid from the Derp nurses is reason 1 to fire them. A derp nurse who has to take leave because she is now sick but makes other sick and take leave is just bad for business.

The increased risk the derp nurses posed to patients with already comprised immune system was reason 2 to fire them.

So the hospital does not fire fat people or smokers but they fire people that don't take a vaccine that does not stop transmission and only potentially protects themselves. Makes zero sense.

Doesn’t change their willful civil disobedience and the consequences thereof.

Blacks in the segregated South willfully violated certain laws, such as sitting at that lunch counter. The difference is, they were willing to accept the consequences. The whining, “livid” nurses are not.

you do realize we do not live in a world where we can time travel right?

What we learn AFTER (as you say 'we now know') cannot be retroactively applied to the past. Health care workers, dealing with most compromised of people, need to take proactive precautions as threat is figured out.
 
I always feel this is an area where Derps really struggle to understand precautionary actions so let me break it down with a very basic example.

A health care worker who works in a respiratory unit in a nursing home around very compromised individuals will be told to stay home or switched to a different unit, if they have the slightest sign of cold or other respiratory infection.


If it turns out, after the fact, they had nothing it was NOT wrong to take those precautions up front. You err on the side of caution and DO NOT instead say 'we will leave you in there until this is diagnosed'.

Derps seem to think if you take precautions first based on 'potential risk' and those risks do not prove to be present, then it was wrong to take the precautions. The opposite is true.

the main problem is that right derps simply do not understand how science works, especially in the realm of advisory science.

When science assesses the threat of an incoming storm and says it 'looks big and dangerous, take precautions' and the storm comes thru with no damage, science is NOT wrong. But derps love to use the fallacy of Results based Thinking, to say 'if it turns out the assessment was not correct after the fact, that means you were wrong to say it up front'.

That is NOT how science works, but you as a derp will not understand what i just said. I don't think right derps finished a science class.

At the beginning of any new Pandemic deadly disease where they are not sure if it 'contact spread', 'spread by breath' or 'other' the science should always advise we take the path of maximum protections (masks, etc) and then scale those back as new learnings come in.

Right derps then WRONGLY think any measure taken that proves unneeded after the fact, proves them wrong when it does not.

Do you then blame the Airline staff of being :

1 - wrong for telling you to put on a vest that was needed
2 - understand that taking the precaution up front is correct even if it proves unneeded after the fact.
