Well that doesn't make much sense. Hillary lost the "blue wall" states, states made up of white working class voters, who voted for Obama in the previous election.

The people who voted for change without knowing how to specifically define the change that they wanted were bad citizens who did not meet their civic obligation to understand what was going on before they cast a vote.
Many of those working class whites thought that they were middle class when they had good union jobs, and when those jobs dried up, they needed somebody to blame--anybody that didn't look like them.
What they didn't understand is that anybody who signs the back rather than the front of a paycheck is not middle class. The middle class is a small group of people who live off their business profits or investment income. If you live off paychecks, no matter how big those paychecks may be, you're working class.

Don't blame the fact that you voted for people who weren't "too socialist" for a "middle class" poseur like you.
You had the chance many times to vote for people who favored a more comprehensive public sector and a more regulated private sector,
both of which would have helped you,
but when you had a decent union job, you were too "middle class" to vote for people trying to help you.
