Good point.

I have solar, living in California. I rarely pay an electric bill. BUT the system cost me over $20,000. After all the rebates and credits. You still pay.

Solar panels only last for 10 years, but I have a 20 year warranty - so when they fail I will only pay the labor to replace them.

Do you think we had the roads, and gas stations, etc that were needed to turn the automobile from a novelty item for a few, to something that would replace the horse and buggy when the auto technology was still new its development curve?


YOu are making the same stupid argument, i busted Terry over, that if everything does not exist prior to the new tech, then it should not be developed. That is just stupid and would stop almost every big now advancement man has made.

Fuck, even Elon Musk himself stated that when he started Tesla he had no focus at all on environmental issues. His Goal was to make a fun and innovative car to drive.

I’ve personally test drove a Tesla S and a Tesla 3. The S series is a complete blast to drive. It can literally beat a Corvette in a 1/4 drag race. Its handling was also exceptional. The Tesla 3 series is also very fun to drive with good handling and the best part of EV’s is that their total cost to own is significantly lower, over five years, is significantly lower than their internal combustion vehicles Tesla competes with. A Tesla 3 may have a higher cost to purchase as a similar sized car but over five years the total cost to purchase and own are significantly lower.

So anyone making this a political debate are morons with a capital M.

No they don’t. They pay a fraction of what it would cost to fuel up an internal gas engine for a similar distance. The Tesla three now has a range of nearly 300 miles. So when you do the math, using a home charger you would pay about $800 per year for a national mileage average of 13,500 miles. That’s about 75% of the cost to drive a Honda Civic the same annual mileage.

You are just dismissive of the facts from an engineering, quality, cost and performance because it has an “Environmental Tab” associated with it. That stems from the fact you know next to nothing, if anything at all about the environmental industry.

I mean all you have to do is look at Tesla’s sales to see that they must be doing something right cause lord knows they are selling a lot of them.

I mean the willful ignorance demonstrated here based on political beliefs instead of reality is just hilarious hearing people make these rock solid opinions with an absurd level of absolutely correct when most of you don’t even know what you’re talking about.

EV’s are less costly to maintain and repair because they are simpler in design and have fewer moving parts that wear out.

Now someone can purchase, or not, an EV for whatever reason they prefer but the silly political arguments about their value is just inane and willfully ignorant.
