Mandela has passed

A kind and gentle soul who always believed in the better angels of mankind and never never gave up

Desh... shut the hell up. You started this thread about TWENTY MINUTES AGO. Give people a chance to fucking respond before you spam the thread with seven posts ending with an accusation against the rest of the board.

how can none of you care?

will you let NOTHING bring us together?

1) How were we suppose to know how many posts in a row you were going for? Wouldn't it be rude for us to interrupt you?

2) Pretty amazing that you think because no one responds to a thread you start in 20 minutes that no one else cares about the great Nelson Mandela but you.

She is a self absorbed twit... there is another thread we can discuss Mandela without her idiocy. I suggest the remainder of the board to there.

the world stands still for a moment.

hearts heavy

we must never forget his love and trust in the goodness of man.

"During my lifetime, I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons will live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for. But, my lord, if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die."

--April 1964, statement from the dock at the opening of his defense case in the Rivonia trial

"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."

--1994, from his autobiography, "Long Walk to Freedom"
