Mark Kelly Denied 2nd Amendment Right

After successfully completing a background check, Mark Kelly, husband of Gabby Giffords, the US Congresswoman nearly killed in last year's gun massacre in Phoenix, was denied the right to exercise his 2nd Amendment rights by purchasing an AR-15 from a local gun shop. His intention was to show how easy it was to complete a background check and planned to donate the rifle to his local police department.

Why was he denied his 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms?

Because he's the husband of a Democrat. He's too enlightened to bear arms.

you anti gunners need to make up your mind. either straw purchases are illegal or they are not. As it stands, they are currently illegal and since the FFL was made aware that the rifle purchase wasn't for Mr. Kelly, they PROPERLY and LEGALLY denied the sale, pursuant to federal law.

Sounds to me like the owner of the Gun shop did not want to cooperate with the point of the video and was trying to embarrass Kelly.

lol..straw purchase? He was planning on donating it to the Police. But you failed to remember that didn't you?

It appears it was not the government denying Kelly his 2nd Amendment rights... It was the Gun shop owner.

He's butthurt he couldnt get a rifle, and if he did get one he'd bitch about how easy it was . . . wanker

So... let me ask you gun wackos a question, if the second Amendment is absolute, dont you belive that the Auora Theater killer should be allowed the right to bear arms while in prison?

IT says, "...The right to bear arms shall not be abridged."

It does not say, "...The right to bear arms shall not be abridged, unless you are in jail."

Except the 5A says rights can be removed via due process of law....

that is irrelevant. you cannot lie on a 4473, period. you are not allowed to buy a weapon unless it is for yourself. Kelly LIED on a federal form. I'd like to know why he's not being prosecuted for it.

maybe you can't count higher than 4, but there is part of the 5th Amendment that says - "nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law" if one is in prison, one has had due process of law. I'm quite surprised I need to tell a lawyer that shit.
