Better to go with "the devil you know". Rick Scott is an unindicted criminal from his "stealing from Medicare" days - that's a pretty bad start.
There's this kind of curious little thing about Scumbag Scott's speech pattern I've noticed, which I wonder if anyone else has noticed as well.
If you've ever listened carefully to him speak, you may have noticed he occasionally gets tongue-tied.
He'll be trying to talk really fast and his mouth or his tongue can't keep up and he gets sort of tangled up or "mush mouthed".
I've always figured it was because his little rat-like brain is making up lies and bullshit so fast his mouth can't keep up with it.
I think that's a fairly common trait amongst congenital liars.
They're pulling stuff out of their asses so fast their mouths get confused.

They don't understand sunset laws and it scares the voters to claim Republicans will do away with SS.
We have sunset laws in Texas and about the only program that has actually expired is the Pink Bollworm Commission.

So because of texas, we can be certain that sunsetting nationally will not happen? We should not worry about SS even though some Reds want it gone? Because of Texas? You have to do better.
No, because of the history of states using sunset laws. But, much more importantly, Republicans are not going to vote to eliminate Social Security. I don't think any of them have actually proposed eliminating SS and the majority know it is political suicide unless it is replaced with something as good.
I do want to hear what both parties plan to do to fix it when revenues can only cover about 70% of benefits.
Social Security is financed by today's workers. That is the only money they get. They do not get money from the treasury. If they cannot keep up with the outlay, they will cut the checks by a percentage. As long as people are working, it can not go broke.

I don't think Congress is going to cut SS benefit by 30%. Currently that amount is being covered by the $2.5 trillion surplus in treasuries in the SS trust fund. That surplus will be gone by about 2037.
I think Scott proposed the idea of a sunset provision. If it passed Congress would just renew it when it was due to expire.
What Scott said does not mean the other Republicans are going to commit suicide and are probably telling Scott to quit talking about that. He would give Democrats a winning issue since the number of those over 65 will double.
