McSames economic advisers

Oh, well now we are getting somewhere. So sometimes corporations act wrongly. Wow. This is a big step. See what seven and a half years of capitalism run amok can do? I’m amazed.

So have you been complaining about the bailout of the lenders? Is that socialism? Have you written your congressperson? How dare they be so irresponsible and now you have to bail them out? You work for a living.

Capitalism run amok for seven years? I would love to be there to see that. Corporations are about as perfect as women. You can decide what percent you would like to apply to it.

Why would I write my Congressperson? I'll get back to you if I can think of a bigger waste of time.

Yes these types of loans exsisted before GLB but they did not explode in number until the Banks were allowed to consolidate again. They started rising in number in the late 90s as the banks basically Broke the Glass Steagall law by consolidating anway. They then lobbied the Congress and got people like Gramm and Leach to do their bidding and Bought the legislation.

This is a corporate scandal and the republicans did the corporate bidding per usual.

Ah, so what you really need is four more years Cawacko.

that to me will be the bright side of a McCain win.

four more years of this and you are going to wake up in a FDR administration. All because guys like you were blind througout 8 years of capitalism run amok, and if you'd like to see that, just stick your head out the window.

what do you call the economy of the late '90's, 2000 & the stock market?

Phil Gramm running our economy?

Fuck were dooomed.

Yes, but, you have to look for the silver lining in that cloud. Many of the people who voted for him won’t be able to feed their children before it’s all over. I know a lot of these guys, trust me, they’re only just hanging on. They’ll lose their tenuous grip. It makes me smile.

Of course to an unrepentant hippy like Desh, you will probably be the first in line to shed a tear for them. And if they ever get up again (and many won’t which is even more fun), they will kick you in the face yet again. But you are much better person than I am. I probably will have to spend some time in purgatory before I go to heaven. You’ll shoot straight up there.

Of course, unrepentant bush voters getting ready to vote for McCain are going to hell in a handbasket.

If only I believed any of that, because honestly there is no better place for the bastards who have consigned so many to early and endless graves with a smirk on their faces. It’s what should be waiting for them at the end of it all. In a just world, it would be.

I called it a lot of fun at the time but yeah it was a stock market bubble that exploded. I wonder if Darla considers that capitalism run amok as well?

No, I consider rampant deregulation the main thing to lead to that Cawacko. You should read some history books you could find out why, then we could talk. But instead, why don't you just mock me now, and then when you drunk make a post about how there are black people in San Francisco and I'm cute? It's less work.

This government was controled entirely by republicans for the last 7 years folks.

They sat and watched the effects and crossed their arms and did nothing.

THIS is why I give them the lions share of the blame.

I agree with that Desh, the problem is, the deregulation goes back to the Reagan years…and Clinton did nothing to stem it. Nothing. His agencies worked harder to keep these clowns in line, and when bush got in, it turned into a fucking free for all, with these same agencies actively working for the interests of the very elite, but Clinton, well, look at what he did with the telecommunications act.

I’m telling you I used to be so blind I was happy with Clinton in office…for the most part. I had some problems with his don’t ask don’t tell shit, and so on. But 8 years of this maniac have radicalized me. That’s what some would say. I say they have wised me up.
Clinton wasn’t so great, he went along with a lot of this shit. The problem is bush took everything to such a ridiculous degree that people think Clinton was some liberal. He was not.

What we need is an actual liberal in office. But that hope died the day Edwards went down. And I’m not going to be satisfied with some Clinton shit anymore. All they do is stem the worst of the flow until a maniac gets in and we all drown.

Rampant deregulation lead to the tech boom? Seeing as how I lived in the area as the Silicon Valley was its home I'm curious how deregulation gave VC's the idea to invest millions and millions of dollars into start-up tech companies?

Actually after telling me to read history if seems you need a little refresher course yourself. Deregulation in some areas actually started with Jimmy Carter.

I brought up the tech boom/bust. Do you consider that capitalism run amok is what I asked.
