McSames economic advisers

Actually after telling me to read history if seems you need a little refresher course yourself. Deregulation in some areas actually started with Jimmy Carter.

It wouldn't shock me. It really got going under Reagan as I'm sure you know.

If I didn't think it had become a bipartisan fucking of the average person, I wouldn't have talked about Clinton , would I?

Believe me, four more years of this...I figure McCain will bury us. If you listen to the shit coming out of that camp, he's going to bury us. You'll smile until the day you're wiped out and have no place to live. I'll see it coming, but I'll also be able to see what's going to come after him.

Sometimes, I think it's what we need. God knows, it's what we deserve.

I brought up the tech boom/bust. Do you consider that capitalism run amok is what I asked.

No, I consider the subprime meltdown, which has spread beyond that, and we still don't know how far, to be a result of that.

I have no idea what caused the tech boom or bust, nor could I care less. I didn't benefit from it, nor was I hurt when it busted. I haven't read about it, nor studied it. I couldn't be less interested in it, nor have I ever heard it come up when economists are discussing our economic situation today. So I don't know what it has to do with it? Do you know?

Hey Cawacko, here is some con article claiming that deregulation under Reagan WAS responsible for the tech boom! LOL

That's pretty funny, so there you go. No matter what you want to think, you can find somebody to "prove it".

That article was written in 1996 and it was quoting George Gilder who made his comments in 1993 as Clinton took office about the coming tech boom.

The experience of the United States offers a broad view of modern deregulation, as many service industries were effectively deregulated beginning in 1971. Studies show that transportation deregulation has increased GDP by up to 3% annually.[1] During deregulation of Savings and Loan associations, about $160 billion was lost - $124.6 billion by the US Government - and re-regulation was enacted. In the electricity area, the process is under debate due to setbacks like the California energy crisis.

It looks kinda like the deregulation Carter did woked while the deregulation done by Rs ...well....not so much.

You see they do it for different reasons.

Looky. The pathetic neocon is trying to expand the argument until he hits on something he can be right on, sad.

No Sir Mr. Facist. I am not arguing with her I was just asking for a basis of comparison from another time period. There was no right or wrong in my question it was a matter of her opinion.

I would love to hear an explanation for your statements above.

President Jimmy Carter devoted substantial effort to transportation deregulation it worked.

Studies show that transportation deregulation has increased GDP by up to 3% annually.

Ok. And you said when Republicans do it doesn't work. And you said they deregulate for different reasons. What are you talking about there?

Because they tend to do it for the benifit of corporations and a guy like Carter opperates on the idea of making a better system for the country as a whole.

This is but one reason Im not a republican.

It's broadening the discussion to her opinion in general, which is fine, but not jermaine.

The deregulation in California was set up by Democrats in California while Clinton was President.

As far as this quote, "Because they tend to do it for the benifit of corporations and a guy like Carter opperates on the idea of making a better system for the country as a whole." that's just pure partisan ignorance. If some idiot like Jollie wrote that and changed Democrats and Republicans you would rightfully rip him to shreads.

It's not wise to put a political party up on a pedistal like you are.

this is the funniest shit
dhula the spinster enough with the spell checking
Markets go up and markets go down, it's how it works.
You FOOLS feel the need to blame republicans when they are in office and troll for some other cause if a dem is there.
funny shit

But let's rise above who's being bad when, it's always a good cap/bad cop routine on that front. Let's get to the principle: shouldn't business be conducted within a moral framework in which many of the society's citizens needs are considered?

IS anyone really against monopoly busting laws? Or minimum workplace safety standards?

Let's get off the extreme tip and just have a group hug.

Governor Pete Wilson was at the helm.

Vice President Dick Cheney was appointed in January, 2001 to head the National Energy Development Task Force. In the Spring of that year, officials of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power met with the Task Force, asking for price controls to protect consumers. The Task Force refused, and insisted that deregulation must remain in place.

I apologize for all I have said to you before Desh. I went out tonight and had a very bad evening. The fact that I am able to come back and read this before going to bed.... God bless you my dear.

I thought you being in Nevada would have knowledge of our situation in California. Your last attempted quote shows you do not.

You have made me smile and laugh and I really appreciate that Desh. I truly owe you for that. In fact my dear I am headed your direction on Friday to donate to your local economy for the weekend.

Thank you so much.
